Pedro Pascal is Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic

Chris Pine would be a great Scott Summers aka Cyclops or as many said Nova.
He's too short for Scott Summers. Singer's biggest mistake was casting Marsden as Scott. Things worked out with Jackman despite him being way too tall for Wolverine. But Scott's gotta be tall.

10 years ago, Lee Pace at 6'5" would have been perfect.

Why are we suggestion actors when the role has been cast?

There's no confirmation that Krasinski will be playing the role in the broader MCU. It could just be a brief fan-service cameo. After all, no one is suggesting that Patrick Stewart will be the MCU's Xavier.

I really hope that's the case, because MoM confirmed what I've always said about that casting - it's terrible. His performance was completely wooden and never gave off an ounce of the authority or edge that Reed should carry.

Couldn't disagree more. He was PERFECT as Reed Richards. The crowd at both my IMAX screenings went CRAZY when he was onscreen. He had the biggest crowd reactions in the film. This is a rare case of "dream casting". Much like Reynolds as Deadpool. You're always going to have detractors but the majority of the fandom wants this.

His casting alone sells this movie to the general audience, who is thus far not very impressed with the FF due to lackluster previous live action ventures.

The actor being popular doesn't make him a good choice for the role. Obviously, the fact that he probably recorded his scenes alone in an empty green screen didn't help, but he was totally void of charisma in his scenes, coming off like a half-***ed mash-up of Jim and Captain America. Reed is the embodiment of "One Bad Day From Becoming Our Worst Enemy." He's equal parts endearing and unnerving. He should carry the presence of a Golden Age Leading Man, an elite alpha scientist. Nothing I've seen of Krasinski has convinced me he can come close to pulling that off.

Dude was in the movie not even 5 mins, lol

While the first sentence is true, I think he would be a very solid choice. I think his work in
Quiet Place
would play to part of the personality I'd like to see.

With all due respect, I totally disagree with your first suggestion. All logic now points to him playing the role. I have no inside knowledge but I do know two things: 1) A Hollywood Studio does nothing by mistake. You don’t introduce a heavyweight actor just to usurp said actor later on with another. What would be the point? 2) As an actor, if he didn’t want to be 616 Reed why do the cameo/appearance to begin with? No actor of stature does this. The other surprise appearance mentioned isn’t comparative. Two entirely different situations.

I have no opinion on anyone’s opinion on a performance. I don’t get how you got all that out of something that lasted three minutes but again I respect your opinion. I thought he was fine.

Alex Hyde-White approves of
Krasinski's casting:

Well, that’s not a surprise. Krasinski’s been rumored for a while. It’s exciting! He’s proved himself to be a heck of a storyteller and as a lead actor and a producer and director. Krasinski is a force to be reckoned with because he has a joy of storytelling, and he’s a good leader. Those are Reed Richards’ characteristics. If you were to send out a casting spec for Reed Richards, you would say 'Excellent leader, controlled freak — but nice about it. Collaborator willing to take the blame,' which I felt was the psychological currency of our Fantastic Four. We dealt with the motivations of the characters.

Really hope AHW gets a cameo in the movie. Maybe as Willie Lumpkin!

I'm quite happy with the casting.
Krasinski has been my number one choice for a long time. I actually loved what little we saw him-- given the context, that he's playing a much older Reed who has already settled into his life with his wife and kids. I totally bought Krasinski as a world weary, compassionate father
I liked his portrayal also, aside from the fact that the Illuminati were written as fools, of course. Really, that whole scene is the centerpiece of the movie IMO.

yeah to replace the first actor with another one is akin to a slap in the face. Why hire Tom Cruise for a role and then replace him with Matt Damon for "reasons"?

I dont know if we are allowed to post these but the crowd reaction was like how my theatre usually reacts to MCU movies on opening night:

Regarding the argument that they wouldn’t cast Krasinsky just to replace him, I think a similar argument could be made “They wouldn’t introduce a bunch of beloved iconic characters just to gratuitously slaughter them moments later.”

But if course that’s exactly what happened.

Five years ago Marvel seemed to be clicking on all cylinders, but I’m afraid they’ve been making some questionable decisions more recently.

I don’t feel like I can trust them as implicitly as I have in the past.

I think John K is still gonna be Reed, but at the same time, fans should at least prepare themselves for the possibility, however slim we may think it is , MOM was a one and done easter egg for fandom.

Regardless of whether we think that's fair or not, or makes sense to us or not, it's still a possibility . At the end of the day, it's not our call to make.

But I think he's got the role.

We'll have to see.

Probably not, but I'm glad I saw it. :funny:

through I agree, and given how easily his character went out, they should have let him go just full ham on the role... the fact that they had him even try play the character seriously/ dead pan {no pun intended} was either done as misdirection, or to try an showcase how he'd actually play the role... for me it was just that he was to soft spoken (got to use to whispering all his lines in, the quiet place, maybe) it didn't sound like him (even his natural voice is deeper) it was a odd choice

I saw this as a reference to the "fancast" and nothing more...but, it could go either way at this point

Waldron (the writer) already confirmed Krasinski's casting wasn't based on "fan casting". The studio made that call. Tom Cruise's Superior Iron Man on the other hand was a result of fan casting that Waldron wanted to run with. They just weren't able to get Cruise because he was shooting MI7.

I'd be shocked if Krasinski isn't playing 616 Reed.

If Krasinski is cast as Reed, it instantly makes me feel better about the project, because that means we're getting an older, more mature Reed. And they're not going in the Ultimate FF direction of a "team of teenage super geniuses". Ugh, it makes me nauseous just thinking about it.

Waldron's been saying all week that

his Reed Richards is based on Hickman's run. Which is AWESOME. 616 Reed is bound to be the same.

I can't stand Ultimate FF or the idea that the MCU FF should be young twenty somethings. No thank you.
