Check out the album Pet Sounds. It's a departure from their early "California Girls", "Surfin' USA" stuff. It's generally considered the best pop album ever, and one of the best of any music. Not as summery as their beach surfing stuff though obviously.

On topic, I associate Ska music with summer, though part of that is the fact that many of the best bands (to me at least) are either from Jamaica or Southern Calfornia.

Also, Walking on Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves.

Yeah, Pet Sounds is the album where The Beach Boys matured. In the early `60s both the Beach Boys and Beatles were like boy bands. HOWEVER, unlike Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC they matured into artists!
