Pet Sematary Remake in the works

Strange, I check this morning and RT score is 90% with 20 reviews.

Now it drops to 87% with only 15 reviews. Is this a glitch ?

Wow, great start. I hope the film really is good.

I keep forgetting this out the same day as Shazam. Guess I'll be out late as hell that night.

Officially rated R for horror violence, bloody images and some language.

Seeing this tonight, Cast and crew will be doing a Q&A as well. I'll report back with my thoughts.

Rock solid adaptation all around, Clarke is really good, but Seimetz is great. The overall theme of loss, death and grief is really on point.

Switch around works really well, Ellie’s dialogue could have not been replicated with gage.
The Big rig scene has some shoddy shots (cgi) that were a bit distracting. Zelda was used well but not enough and i was definitely hoping for more.

8/10

We're living in the golden age of King Adaptations, and we have a lot more to come.
p.s. Second best King adaptation i've seen so far this year.

I'm shocked at those reviews, I thought it will absolutely flop lol I'm losing my touch :funny:

That line is witty as f**k and I am totally here for it.

I think Doctor Sleep is my most anticipated King adaption of 2019. However, still really excited for Pet Sematary and IT. Bring it all on. King me!

Did we really need a “final” trailer this close out?

I guess they wanted to show off all the positive reviews for those still on the fence.

They know Shazam is major competition.

So saw this for a second time, and guess who’s sitting two rows ahead of me? Christopher Nolan and his kids. So wanted to go up to him after the film, but thought that would be a bit disrespectful, being with his kids and all. They all seemed to have really enjoyed it, they were having a pretty loud discussion comparing this with the original.

If they're truly that different and if it wont be revealed until next week they should just post clips of the deleted versions online. Rather than just telling us about them.

Drop to 70% on RT. Seems like a dissapoint result after a promising start

I thought it was a good horror film. There is greater character development here than most horror flicks, and the ending is quite unnerving. Solid film -- although not incredible.

Very well executed scene

You've got to be kidding, they actually released this as a clip? The only thing I ever saw from this film was the first trailer and seeing it last night this and the ending where the best twists on the story, this was very surprising when it happened as they totally took my expectations and flipped them upside down, thank god I didn't see this before seeing the movie.

All in all though the movie was ok. This twist and the ending were probably the best things about it.

I really dislike when marketing campaigns reveal the entire plot of movie through trailers...

Overall I give it a 6/10. Completely average horror fare so I'm not sure why it's getting so much positive rave. Maybe I would've given it a better score if the trailers hadn't given everything away? I don't know it felt very rushed overall though.

I compare this to Hereditary which was released last year. There's a giant twist in the middle of the movie that it depends on for the film's execution and the marketing campaign for it did a really good job at hiding that twist whereas with this movie, the twist is laid out in the trailers and it diminishes the whole movie because there's no surprise or shock when it happens. And I get that Pet Sematary is based on a novel and a similar thing happens in the book and original, but most moviegoers probably have not actually read the book or may have not seen the original, so they wouldn't even know about the twist in advance.
