Hi,
One thing I never understood, or was constantly confused about, with Sam Raimi's three Spiderman movies was the question: Is Peter Parker a dork or a stud?
Think about it: Parker, in the comics, is supposed to be a dork - a dork who ends up marrying a supermodel (MJ) - which is supposed to be, you know, irony. So in Spiderman 1 the movie, we clearly see that Peter is a nerd, has barely any friends (only Harry), and would never be able to attain the likes of MJ. So in S1, Peter is pretty much a dork.
In Spiderman 2, MJ is ALL OVER Peter, gushing all over him. Secondly, the Chocolate Cake girl is without-a-doubt head-over-heels for him. And when Spiderman gives up his powers (and retires), we see scenes of Peter walking past attractive ladies and getting winks and smiles. So Spiderman 2 begs the question: Is Peter now a stud-muffin? So many chicks dig him.
In Spiderman 3, it gets more confusing. Peter and MJ are in love. Gwen Stacy (another model) obviously has a crush on him (after all, she immediately accepts a date with him to the jazz club) When Peter turns cocky (due to the black ooze), girls on the street look at him like he's nuts, yet at the same time, Betty Bratt (at the Daily Bugle), gets extra-close and cozy (almost sucking face) with Peter in that one scene. And to top it all off, the Chocolate Cake girl is still dying to bear Peter's children.
So which is it? Is the movie version of Peter Parker a dork (dork = guy who can't attract girls), or is he a stud (stud = guy who attracts girls)?????
Spiderman 1 - Peter's a dork.
Spiderman 2 - MJ/Chocolate Cake girl/Girls on the Street adore Peter
Spiderman 3 - MJ/Gwen/Chocolate Cake girl/Betty Bratt think Peter's a stud, but the Girls on the Street now laugh at him (just cause he likes to dance in the middle of traffic...hahaha!)
So it seems like with each movie, Peter is attracting more and more and more women. So in Spiderman 4, he'll have MJ, Gwen, Cake girl, and Black Cat all prying for him.
