Phase 3 Release Schedule Finalized

Can anyone point me in a direction of a quote that confirms outright that this is our "Phase 3" ?

4 year wait for a third Avengers film?
...When they've just started working on expanding the roster?
...I can't buy that.

Avengers 3 could be one of the 2018 films. ?

Maybe something like this...

Ant-Man - July 17, 2015

Captain America 3 - May 6, 2016
Doctor Strange - July 8, 2016

Thor 3 - May 5, 2017
Black Panther - July 28, 2017
Guardians Of The Galaxy 2: Planet Hulk - November 3, 2017

Avengers 3 - July 6, 2018
Inhumans - November 2, 2018

Marvel's "Infinity War" - May 3, 2019

why not a 4 year wait? TDK to TDKR was 4 years. When the movie is as big as Avengers it doesn't matter.

I don't see why there wouldn't be a four year wait for Avengers 3. There were four years between Iron Man and Avengers 1. Besides, why would they move it from a May release date?

9 films. Damn. :wow:

I predict the other 7 will be Dr. Strange, Black Panther, Thor 3, Captain/Miss Marvel, GOTG 2 (may or may not include Hulk), Inhumans, and Avengers 3. Not necessarily in that order.

Star Was 8 is all I can think of for moving it if it comes out that year.

So any ideas what how many titles will be unvealed next weekend?

I'm hoping for the final 2016 movie and at least two 2017 movies.

I'd be very happy with this lineup.

I hope for two not as obvious choices like they pulled with GOTG. I'll be really stoked for Inhumans, Hawkeye, Nova, Black Widow or Runaways. Mainly the latter. Time to bring in some younger blood and get Nico on the screen.

Because investors like money. That is the exact reason Episode VII is happening in Dec 2015 as opposed to May 2016.

As long as Captain Marvel makes it in there somewhere, I don't even care what or when the others are at this point, lol.

That is not so much about the investors then it is about Bob Iger. He's leaving Disney and he wants to have the movie come out during his last term.

Forget picking at or supporting the 4 years comment, it wan't necessarily thought out and it's a tedious detail to dwell on.

Instead, can someone answer this question....

DOES IT STATE ANYWHERE THAT ALL THESE FILMS ARE "PHASE 3" AND THAT THE LAST OF THEM WILL BE AN AVENGERS MOVIE?

Not only that but wasn't last year that Feige said we would get 4 more movies (didn't say it was P3). I would assume it was for P3, this puts it way over 4.

What makes more sense, having more films to set up an Infinity Gauntlet story or moving Avengers away from it's prime spot in the release calendar? That 2019 film is probably Avengers 3. July opening weekends are typically lower than May.

What about some small story arcs inside Phase 3?

Espionage arc:
Ant-Man: July 17, 2015
Captain America 3: May 6, 2016

Magic arc:
Dr Strange: July 8, 2016
Thor 3 (w/ Amora): May 5, 2017

Cosmic arc:
Captain Marvel: July 28, 2017. In the end Carol will join Guardians in...
Guardians of the Galaxy 2: November 3, 2017. In the end Guardians are going to Earth to join...
Avengers 3: July 6, 2018

And then Phase 4 with...
Black Panther: November 2, 2018
Iron Man 4: May 3, 2019

Spider-Man is a multi-billion dollar franchise. You must you mean a billion dollar single movie.

I'm hoping one of these Phase 3 movies is Nova, the real Nova not the kid.

Yes billion dollar movie.

Don't get me wrong. I actually think Spider-man is better served being in his own universe. He has a strong enough supporting cast and rogues gallery to do that. I just don't think Sony is the right studio to do that.

The Inhumans: November 2, 2018
Avengers 3: May 3, 2019

That could work.

Count me in the group that the July 6, 2018 date is Avengers 3. I just can't imagine so many movies in Phase 3.

I'm not saying the July '18 movie can't be Avengers 3, but the highest grossing movie ever in the first week of July made over $70 million less than The Avengers. In general, the first week of May is a much better spot for a high dollar film than the first week of July. Eight lead up films also would allow Marvel to introduce some new characters to take over in Phase 4 should they choose to not release anything for Iron Man, Cap, or Thor then.

I wouldn't either, but it doesn't change the fact that it isn't an issue worth considering. Sweeping it under the rug doesn't accomplish anything.

Yeah, the PC police is more concerned with cops killing innocent black folks nowadays. There hasn't been a stink about a blockbuster movie title as far back as I can remember. Content, yes, but that's not so much a minefield as it is: don't make whitewash stuff. It's not like none of the PC police heard/knew about the BET cartoon series, but chances are, anyone who has a liberal slant on racial politics loved the heck out of it, throwback name to an even more liberal and militant racial political group included. The concern you've raised is simply not well founded. It's about as solid as Greeks being upset about "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" or Jewish folks being upset about a character called "the Jew Bear." Even less so because "The Black Panther" whether the animal, party, or character is well respected and considered badass by everyone who knows anything about them, including many members racebenders, Rainbow Coalition and other groups that point out uneven racial politics.

The only challenge with BP is: do you trust the audience to care about a black lead. It's a yes or no question, and it should determine whether you make the film or not.

But that's enough of that. My list is much like everyone else's:

Ant-Man: July 17, 2015
Captain America 3: May 6, 2016
Dr. Strange: July 8, 2016
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 - Planet Hulk: May 5, 2017
Black Panther: July 28, 2017
Thor 3: November 3, 2017
Captain Marvel: July 6, 2018
Inhumans: November 2, 2018
Avengers 3 - Infinity: May 3, 2019

Reasonings:
- I think Thor has established itself as a November property
- I Think GotG is a going to be a big deal and considered sugh
- It's very possible that GotG and Strange might switch so Strange can be the "new Iron Man."
- I think that Marvel will counter a female superhero with a black superhero, rather than looking as though DC is keeping pace with them
- Inhumans make a great lead in to Thanos and can help set up the rest of the Infinity Gauntlet saga well before the heroes come in. Thor could too, but he should be busy with Ragnarok... unless of course THanos is part of Ragnarok, in which place, Thor and Inhumans would switch places.
- I think the idea of Avengers not that first week in May is asking Marvel to throw money away.

I think that May 2019 date will be Avengers 3. Gives them 4 years between Avengers 2 and 3 and time to squeeze a few more films in phase 3 to introduce more infinity gems and build Thanos a bit more. Avengers would likely kick start 2019 and the end of phase 3 like they did in 2012 and are doing in 2015.

A sequel to GOTG will likely depend on how the first film does and thats what they are waiting on.We will get AntMan, Cap3, Dr. Strange and Thor3 as the next 4 after Avengers2.
A potential GOTG sequel and another cosmic film and a Black Panther origin film. I expect all the infinity gems to have been established by the time Avengers 3 comes out in 2019 ending phase 3. At the same time setting up future heroes to carry on phase 4.

All I want is one of those to be Black Panther.....
