Phillipe is still candidate for Dent's role, besides Nolan said that there is no tru only in rumours like Penn being one of the candidates for Joker or Hoffman and Phillipe for The Penguin.

If you ask me, Nolan's "as the Penguin" statement was just surprise on his part due to perhaps not knowing internet fans wanted Hoffman as Penguin. He wasn't denying the Phillipe as Penguin rumor because there IS no Phillipe as Penguin rumor. Some people are being ridiculous about this, I swear.

Not really. He even seems to laugh at the idea of the Penguin (or perhaps just Hoffman playing him). So it's still up in the air, I wouldnt' call that a confirmation at all.
