The Dark Knight How would you feel about Phillipe if the rumors are true?

Well, a lot of rumors are pouring in saying Phillipe is Dent, and I know a lot of people are like me and are damn unhappy about that, but I thought it'd be interesting to make a poll to really gauge the fans opinions of this. So, if the rumor turned out to be true, and Ryan Phillipe was cast as Harvey Dent in The Dark Knight, how would you feel?

Nolan's been that one director who likes to cast people that are new to a certain role. The BB cast (besides Bale) was a total turnaround from what we usually see these actors as, and I'm sure the same trend will follow in TDK.

IF, and that's a big if, Nolan picks Ryan out of all the other actors, then I'm sure he's seen something that we haven't.

Call it blind optimism, but I honestly can't see myself thinking differently.

I would feel disapointed - not because I dont believe in Nolan, but because I truely believe that there are far greater actors out there. It would be equal to the disapointment I would of felt if Hulme was picked as Joker.

Unsure - he's better than gyllenhall (for the role, i mean) and has the square jawed, all american look and (im a brit) nice to have another american in the cast.

decent actor, my concern is he isn't physically intimidating like i imagine dent being, and doesn't have the tough, gravelliness of a washington, jackman or (i hate to be a sheep but) schrieber. But, hey, INWT

I disagree on that. Of course I wouldnt refuse to watch the film if that choice were being made but Im not stubborn if I say I cant think of many worse choices. it is Just an opinion.

He's not someone i would have ever thought as Harvey Dent (like Ledger) and not on my list of candidates however IF the rumors are true and he is gets the part i'm sure he'll do a good job.

For those thinking he's too young. The man is 32 years old now, same age as Bale.He's also scored the lead role in the new Clint Eastwood directed flick Flag Of Fathers. I think that says something.

this one is perfect for this casting...he wasn't what I exactly had in mind, but it's not a bad choice...

people are just mad that they aren't getting their fantasy lineup cast into this movie...

there is nothing wrong with Phillipe...people just like to whine...

if he gets cast, people will brainwash themselves into liking him after about 4 or 5 good manips just like the Ledger casting...

hey an actors an actor. prior to last month id say heath ledger would NEVER be considered for joker.

I am a bit unsure about this. To be honest, I like Phillipe because he is a really good actor. However, I was caught of guard of this new rumour that maybe true. I do think that there are more suitable actors for the role of Harvey Dent. It isn't like Nolan hasn't made any mistakes in the past. Remember Katie Holmes. I don't think she's a bad actress at all, she was just miscasted (if there is such a word, but u get my drift).

Maybe this is a mistake by casting Phillipe. Maybe he isn't right for the role of Dent. Then again, Maybe he is. I hate this feeling of uncertainty, but we're just going to have to wait to see the movie to judge.
