I LOVE that scene! I too thought she looked like a corpse when she stood up. Gave me chills! If they would have used the firebird effect when she spread her arms, it wouldn't have just been perfect, it would have been BEAUTIFUL!
I've seen the movie 8 times and each time I get mad at Magneto for instigating the entire situation.

if you watch the deleted scene with Jean and Prof X on X-men 1.5 when they are inside Cerebo...like..man...when she kisses his bald head, and knowing what happens to them later in x3... GOOSEBUMPS... makes me shudder just knowing what happens to Prof X.
