Personally, I'd have Cyclops, Storm, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Rogue.

cyclops
storm
jean
rogue
logan

Cyclops
Storm
Jean
Logan
Beast (or Nightcrawler)

Are we picking our 5 we'd want in the movies?

Or picking our 5 FROM the movies?

If it's FROM the movies:

Leader - Cyclops
Vice - Storm
-Wolverine
-Beast
-Colossus

The last one was hard, because it's really between Colossus, Nightcrawler, and Jean. I loved 'em all.

It's a small team, but here is my list:

Cyclops
Storm
Rogue
Nightcrawler
Angel

Cyclops
Storm
Nightcrawler
Angel
Jean

Leader: Cyclops
Vice: Storm
Jean
Logan
Rogue

Two energy bonanzas, one telepath/telekinetic, one for physical brawls, and one with the powers from the enemies.

Beast, Nightcralwer and Colossus are all physique, although Nighty might come in handy with his teleporting abilities. But I believe Logan and Jean cover his absense. Kitty has little to no purpose in battles, other than not getting herself in trouble/death. She would stay there whistling all along. Jean's abilities make up for Xavier. Iceman is a mix of energy and physique, I got both in great examples. DONE! :p

But in the films, we've never really seen Rogue do anything else besides getting into trouble. She seemed out of her element in the danger room (Colossus had to touch her to save her from being squashed). And, even if she was skilled in hand to hand combat, all it would take is a long range villian to take her out.

I still think she's a great weapon. If I take into consideration X1 Jean, I'd leave her home. Rogue doesn't do much in the trilogy, that's right. But I'm working on a "what if" situation here. We have Storm, Cyclops and Logan to cover her while she drains the enemy. If she were all by herslef, sure, worthless, but she's inside a team. After she absorbed the enemy, depending on the powers, the others were free and they had already a weak enemy, and one person with his powers.

I'm taking into consideration solely their powers. Not their personality or anything. In the movies, Cyclops is a *****e who lost almost every battle he went into. But I consider his power ridiculously strong. He was never a good leader too, always giving wrong/silly orders, or being kidnapped. But he's my leader, basing on his powers and comic background.

Professor Xavier

I'd say that, given the fact that she was a student at Xavier's academy for probably about 4 years (at least that's my estimation), she has to have some skill in hand-to-hand and other forms of battle (e.g.: it was a good idea to take Pete's powers briefly in the Danger Room. That didn't show helplessness. She was sticking close to him for a reason. It's unfortunate that that's the most we've seen of her in battle, 'cause without anything better, she does seem kinda weak.) Imagine that girl in a hand-to-hand: one good touch, and she can take them down. What she needs to do is wear an outfit that shows a lot more skin: she's practically useless in a full-body suit with gloves. She needs to wear a vest (like what Beast wore, only closed in front), and maybe some short black shorts. In my X-Men 4 script, I've got her in a battle where she wins by locking her opponent in a headscissor to drain their energy. She'd do a lot more good if she wore something that made her powers easier to use (and, on a side note, it wouldn't be bad for the morale of the male X-Men. :oldrazz: )

the problem is that if she shows that much skin, she's also dangerous to the X-men. You know, I really like her movie costume with the opera gloves. If she takes them off, 3/4 of her arm comes out, being very useful/dangerous. It's a pity that she never even takes her outfit gloves off in the movies :(

Actually, I already thought that out: the other X-Men wear full body suits with gloves, so what she wears doesn't really matter to them. :)

Oh, I forgot to post my team of five:

Leader: Storm
Vice: Logan
Rogue
Bobby
Jean

1. Wolverine
2. Cyclops
3. Colossus
4. Nightcrawler
5. Beast

Easily the most badass team right there.
