Call me crazy but i think Brand would be great as Jack Sparrow's brother.

Not only do I not want Brand, (and I'm pretty sure we don't have to worry about that) but I don't want anymore of Jack's family. Keith Richards' cameo was cheesy enough. I don't wanna see The Sparrow Family of the Caribbean.

haha i love how there are already "this movie is going to suck" comments....when there has been 2 things confirmed, Depp is Back, and shooting for 2011.

not a lick of plot info, other castings, anything...yet this movie is going to suck...

Well besides it's success, I feel the last 2 sequels were subpar to the original, an almost "Matrix" type experience. So, if there was a 4th, I'd have really low standards going into it.

Well if its just Jack and Barbossa and regular PIrates i am ok with it but leave Will Heartless and lizabeth on that island don't need the party poopers. Let this be Jack and Barbossas story

Yeah thats why 4th can happen cause people are hoping lightning can strike again and get a good one like Pirates 1. I think 2 and 3 kept bringing it closer to Pirates 1. One more they should have a great movie and end it there.

I had this idea too. Kind of base it off that story.

Jack could steal the treasure from the island. That's the deal behind the whole thing when redbeard finds nothing. We learn that Jack actually stole it and came to the island before him. Possibly something to bribe Davey Jones before POTC 2. But again, the past comes to bite Sparrow in the ass as Redbeard or Blackbeard (I prefer the latter) hunts him down.

I think PIrates 1 had teh perfect length aand plot. I liked the other two i mean just liked but loved 1. Pirates 2 and 3 should have been seperat stories with differant pirate villains or Barbossa always coming back
4 gives me hope it will end as good as pirates 1 the series of movies that is. DMC was a great middle movie in my opinion they just ruined 3 by killing off Sao Feng too fast and made it Wills story. And the ending deserved a republic vs the empire like ship battle at the end.

Hell, I remember that same day when DMC came out, I was walking through my front yard, and I stepped on a screw that stabbed through the bottom of my foot. All still in my front yard, luckily we had a nurse as a neighbor and she unscrewed it out of my foot. We cleaned it, wrapped bandages around it, I had a limp. And my dad asked, "So I guess we're not going to see the movie?"

I said, "Are you kidding? I've been waiting for this film for three years! This ain't gonna stop me!"

I loved it when I first saw it. I was 14. Now I'm 16 and I caught it on USA about a month ago. Looking back, all I can say is damn, I was too determined that day.

I loved AWE, lol. I don't understand all the hate for it, but I thought it was epic and awesome and great.

Pirates 2 and 3 always felt like imitation more than continuation. Pearl worked so well because of its novelty, as well, and there's no way to replicate it. Now, I still liked DMC and AWE, but Pearl was far and away the best. Hopefully, this fourth one will show us the same spirit, but in a new package.

It was a completely fantastic experience, and it was an amazingly large portion of my life, but I don't think I need to go there again. I think that it's done. But I'm very excited to see the next one. And he is so wonderful in that character. I think it'll be wonderful.

Well she was never really a pirate and they tried it with her and it didn't seem to gel with me. I'd rather them focus on Sparrows hijinks anyway.
I don't think there has to be another trilogy though.

Good, that means we can move on from them!

Focus on Jack and Barbossa and stop making Jack only for slapstick humor! Put him back to the way he was in the first.

The problem was that character was so damn sucessful they just rubbved it in more because they thought the humor aspect is what worked so they just expanded on it and went overboard (no pun intended)

Jack served the plot of the first while providing witty humor and quirckiness.

If they go the same direction as the did in 2 and 3, it will not be a movie I will enjoy. I absolutely loved the first, I am a huge Depp fan, but I was sorely disappointed in 2 and 3, especially 3. If 4 is going in that same line, and I figure that out before the movie comes out, it will be one I wait for on DVD, and simply because I'm a Depp fan will I buy the DVD.

I always hated those rumors with Brand. The guy isn't even that funny and looks like a woman with facial hair. Even the possibility of him being Jack's brother is stupid, him even having a brother is stupid. Jack acts this way because of the island he spent time on, his brother isn't gonna act exactly like him.
