- Movie is set right after Avengers: Endgame in continuity around the same time as Spider-Man: Far From Home. Wakanda has rebuilt after the five-year gap of Thanos and T'Challa is immediately given back power by the Wakandan people.
- Doctor Doom who would be introduced before The Fantastic Four, and Namor are the main antagonists.
- Doom is essentially Christopher Columbus mixed with Tony Stark. The story is that he's a Sokovian (origins changed slightly) billionaire and industrialist who began rebuilding his country after the events of Age of Ultron. He turned it into one of the richest countries in the world, but turns it into an isolated Orwellian dictatorship in the process. He renames it to Latveria, after his wife who died in the destruction. After Wakanda reveals itself to the world, he begins developing a plan to take it over, and during the country's period of weakness during "The Thanos Snap", he manages to place moles within their ranks. Doom is essentially an analog to historical white imperialism.
- In order to bring Namor to his side, Doom attacks Atlantis and blames it on Wakanda. Namor and the Atlanteans are already pretty pissed at the surface world, so they join forces with him. Doom uses the power of xenophobia to manipulate Namor and poison his mind. However, Namor realizes he's on the wrong side and teams up with Black Panther to defeat Doom in the final act.
- The movie sets up a Namor miniseries on Disney+. Attuma and Stingray are the villains, and they have similar roles to Ocean Master and Black Manta in Aquaman but on Disney+
