I don't see anything crazy in what Pitt said. He seems to be more concerned with the larger picture and his fellow man whereas Cruise seems to care about only himself, to be honest.

Are they really trying to make a point or do they just not want to engage in a practice they find hypocrtical? "Unite in love for all your lives!....as long as you fit some people's definition of a real couple."

I seriously doubt Brangelina think their choice to not formalize their union will impact American politics and policy. I think they were just saying that legal marriage in this country is a joke; legalizing a union changes nothing in a relationship (except for taxes), so I'm guessing Brangie already feel their relationship is "official enough" and they don't want to support an unjust institution.

NEW YORK - Brad Pitt, ever the social activist, says he won't be marrying Angelina Jolie until the restrictions on who can marry whom are dropped. "Angie and I will consider tying the knot when everyone else in the country who wants to be married is legally able," the 42-year-old actor reveals in Esquire magazine's October issue, on newsstands Sept. 19.

In the article he reflects on "fifteen things I think everyone should know."

Though Shiloh, the world-famous daughter of Pitt and girlfriend/earth mother Angelina Jolie, hogged much attention upon her birth in May, Pitt says he "cannot imagine life" without adopted children, Maddox, 5, and Zahara, 1.

"They're as much of my blood as any natural born, and I'm theirs," says Pitt. "That's all I can say about it. I can't live without them. So: Anyone considering (adoption), that's my vote."

Pitt, who plays a world traveler in the upcoming drama "Babel," subscribes to a laid-back parenting style.

"I try not to stifle them in any way," he says. "If it's not hurting anyone, I want them to be able to explore. Sometimes that means they're quite rambunctious."

Lucky kids.

"I feel it's really important to have that time to sit and talk to them," he continues. "I really like that last minute before they fade off. And always give them a heads-up before you jerk them out of something. You need to tell them, like, `You have three more minutes.'"

Is he being an actavist or is Jolie wearing the pants in this relationship?

Pitt is a wimp and Angie has his balls in a jar. I thought this before this comment by the way. If a better actor had said what he said I probably would just move on, but because this is goodlooking bland man I'll say this, that is not the reason they aren't getting married. It's just something he said to get attention for himself and that young girl he knocked up. I'm not going to change my opinions because Brad and Angie aren't going to get married anytime soon. I wonder how that comment would have went over with Jennifer...wait it didn't, because he married her!
