Plot holes/poor storytelling discussion

Actually I think when Wolverine stabbed Sabretooth in the brain it was shortly after he discovered his bone claws.

But that doesn't matter, I think if Wolverine's brain was damaged by any kind of weapon. adamantium or not..he would be able to heal the physical damage but not the psychological.

The Sabretooth Lobotomy I think was sometime between Fatal Attractions and Onslaught... Deffinitevely after FA, since Creed goes to Xavier's looking for help right after FA, and he is "normal"... not sure if during AoA or Onslaught he is already with X-Factor...

But true in the last point: adamantium or not, the damage is the same...

But it would need to be an adamantium bullet to pierce his skull in the first place.

I guess you didn't read my posts.

As Maverick threatens here, Wolverine doesn't have adamantium eyelids and he can easily shoot him in the brain and "kill" him.

Errrr.... eyesocks in actual skulls aren't HOLLOW, they're more like a ball with a hole in front. So, a shot to the eye would just bounce back.

It includes the concept of adamantium bullets.

The ones that pierce adamantium are made of 'anti-metal' which is far too out there for the grounded X-Men series. Since the only thing that can cut diamond is diamond, it's a logical step that adamantium can in some circumstances cut through adamantium, like a close-range bullet fired from a magnum.

Not sure, but it's the point that adamantium can cause memory loss.

I just want people to be clear the bullet, and the idea of adamantium causing memory loss, were not just some random invention by the movie.

The execution of those ideas is another discussion entirely, their inclusion is now shown to be based on comic book precedent.

Grounded? Haven't you yourself in this thread said that we should suspend our beliefs in a film that has a kid shooting lasers out of his eyes, guys that never age, and people that can fly? If not, then do forgive me.

It's funny how you completely ignore the point X was making. All he/she was saying was that the memory loss deal wasn't cooked up just for the movie. They obviously got some inspiration from the books.

Clearly not everything from the comics works well for the movies.

And, people, such as myself, have shown plot holes that exist because they aren't grounded in reality (Wolverine blocking a laser beam and sending it back on itself for example) to which that statement was made.

I have no problem with shooting his brain and he looses his memory. I have a problem with the way it was executed.

I think X is a guy right??? He seems like a guy but I have been wrong but typing he/she takes too long:woot:

Everyone thought I was a woman for the first 6 or so months I posted here until I posted pics. I never realized they thought I was a woman either:(

err...there's still a hole so the cords can connect to the brain.

I think X is a guy. I always assume Hypesters are male unless they have words like "chick", "girl", or some female name as part of their username.

Oh, and Ace, what's with the red text? :yay:

lol ohhh I dunno. Just fancied putting these new thingy bobs in the quick reply to use :D

Maybe I missed it in the film, a moment you want to rewind to check, but
when did they get the name Logan?
Everyone is calling him James, Jimmy, and such, and suddenly they start calling him Logan and its on his Dog Tags.
Where did it come from?

I also have thoughts on the "Magic Bullet" scene. Have the scientist present the adimentium bullets as their only shot for the moment, still so experimental that they don't know what, if anything, the bullets would actually do to Wolverine.
And then later, after Logan is shot in the head a few times, without explaining have Gambit react shocked and upset seeing that Logan was shot in the head, then after Logan gets up show that he lots his memory.

I think I would have rather had his memory loss come from his body's, and brain's, over exposure to the adimentium. Like in Wolverine First Class.
They could have mentioned something like that in the movie,
Scientist- "Exposure to the Adimentium has resulted in memory loss in some." (or something)

Wolverine blocking Deadpool's eye blasts isn't a plot hole. It's just corny fx.

Well it is impossible so it is a plot hole. It is also cheesy and should have been in a game. Oh wait...it was in the game!

Not sure what story line it was in but it happend in Wolverine issue # 90/91. Wolverine starts to stab Sabertooth in issue 90 but every thing gets frozen for the Age of Apocolypse. Then in issue 91 if I'm not mistaken Wolverine's middle claw stab Sabertooth in the brain.

Yes. Grounded. As realistic as possible. You know full well that Singer and Ratner kept it grounded, so quit arguing for the sake of it. Grounded is why Storm never flew until the third movie, grounded is why Phoenix was a split personality not a cosmic entity snacking on stars, grounded is why Iceman froze a cup of tea in X2, grounded is why Magneto was an old man not a muscular man of WWE build, grounded is why Mystique had scales and didn't wear a white dress with a belt of skulls round it.

Adding an 'anti-metal' adamantium-piercing bullet in Wolverine seems silly when you can base it on the real-world example of diamond, which can be cut only by diamond.

Seriously, Chasester, get a grip!

And I'm male by the way. If that makes any difference to your crusading.

Besides saying it was grounded, can you explain these 2 to me?

grounded is why Magneto was an old man not a muscular man of WWE build
Vince McMahon is old and muscular and he's pretty real.
