I couldn't decide. I would have to say GICUDA-sized but there was only a GINORMOUS option. I still don't think you will be shown a clear image of the planet-muncher in this film. Not until FF3...

The Chicago reference reminds me: the building Silver Surfer skims down the side of looks a lot like One Bank One (First National) Plaza in the Loop. The sides curve outward toward the base, just like the building in the trailer.

For that mattter what should it look like when he consumes the energy. I think that he should be in his ship and the suit should be like a electrical chair that gives him the energy.

I think they use the idea from the ULTIMATE GALACTUS... as in he doesn't have any normal humanoid form shape that we can understand... and the SURFER should feel more ALIEN... not just some human looking guy with a T1000 body.

Galactus should be portrayedd as he is in the comics; a somewhat arrogant, omnipotent being. Again, MUA as a reference is perfect.

What makes Galactus the character he is, is the manner in which he's portrayed. His size is relevant because it literally makes him larger than life. Just as we see Galactus in the comics; assembling his machinery; suspended high in the sky--with neither a care or interest in the destruction and loss of life he is about to cause. His indifference to the beings and planet he is about to devour make his character. Galactus simply goes about his business as if the inhabitants don't exist. Perchance, the inhabitants do gain his attention, they will either regret annoying and delaying Galactus from his most important task of feeding his hunger or gain an audience with him--which may still prove futile considering the arrogance and indifference of Galactus.

yes that ability should be emphasized but he should never shrink down to human scale. that simply betrays the character.

I think he's always looked best in the books at around the 50ft mark, growing bigger when he needs or wants to (around 40 to 50ft is about the scale he is that fight statue pic above...in the pic with the surfer he looks about 100ft).
That official 30ft mark isn't much taller than my house...Would expect a planet eater to be a bit bigger than that
