Wakandans see dead people. That's not a coincidence.

I'm thinking Captain Marvel or Thanos already has it somehow

Given we know Wakanda's an Infinity War setting my guess is it's buried in the Vibranium and turns out to be the thing that's actually affecting the Wakandan wildlife/responsible for the heart shaped herb.

Of the things we've already seen, they could use the Eternal Flame from Ragnarok as the Soul Stone if they wanted to. It resurrects the dead and turns Surtur into a cosmic level threat so it's definitely powerful enough to be an infinity stone. Given the "we can't have more than one infinity stone in Asgard's vault" line from The Dark World post credits scene I doubt that's the plan though.

I think people overcomplicate the matter. The Soul Stone is going to get introduced in Infinity War, and its likely not in *any* of the above suggested locations. Its either in Thanos' possession, or in some other, new place introduced in the movie.

I lean towards Cap Marvel.. We've already had several focused on or around earth, i don't want yet another to be..

I think the trailer gives it away that Thanos does not start out with the Soul Stone since his gauntlet only has the power & space stones.

If Marvel knew they would put Soul Stone in Wakanda or somewhere in Ragnarok , I think they would have hinted it since thats what they do. I think its part of Captain Marvel solo film, I think Infinity War will lead to Captain Marvel w/ the Soul Stone as connection.

Or I dont know man - WAKANDA CAN TALK TO DEAD PEOPLE !!!! That can't be a coincidence without the soul stone.

I have no idea.

My money is on Wakanda; it likely came in on that meteorite that levelled the landscape with Vibranium and has something to do with the heart shaped herb. Seems odd that Thanos' army would otherwise target Wakanda if there wasn't something there that he (Thanos) wanted.

Wakanda is where I think the stone may be hiding.

Still think its in Wakanda. Otherwise, it probably in some new location that maybe Thanos needs all the other stones first in order to gain access to it.

It's with the Sovereign; Ayesha is powering Adam Warlock's birthing pod with it.

Adam Warlock isn't showing up until GOTG 3 (Gunn confirmed this), so this wouldn't work.

Do we have confirmation that Thanos gets all of the stones in IW?

Edited to add: When did Gunn confirm Warlock for GOTG3? All I can find is this from November:
And despite so many people thinking Adam will show up in Vol 3 that is something that we have never confirmed. Who knows how long it will take him to bake in that cocoon. That said, I love Adam. But the time must be right.

I think it will either be tied in with Cap Marvel or we see it in Avengers 4.

I forgot Gunn clarified the Adam Warlock appearance, basically he's saying there that Warlock could still potentially be in the cocoon by GOTG 3. Regardless, GOTG 3 isn't coming out until after Infinity War and Avengers 4 so the Infinity Stones storyline will more than likely be resolved by that point.

Except he doesn't say it it will be after GOGT3; all he said was "Who knows?" while refusing to confirm anything. It could be later, it could be sooner.

I could be wrong, but I'm going with my gut, because Warlock is integral to the established Infinity War story.

Curiously, why exactly, or where exactly is it stated that Thanos will have collected all the stones in Infinity War? If he ever does in fact manage to collect them all; it's possible that he wont get them all, or he'll be missing one or two until Avengers 5.

I guess the problem with that is that they'd need to release Vol. 3 before Avengers 5, and that isn't happening. Maybe Thanos simply isn't going to manage the full set? ;)

You mean Avengers 4? And yes you're correct, we don't know for sure if he will get them all in Infinity War...but I have a feeling he will. Otherwise it seems odd that all the merchandising pictures shows Thanos with all the stones.

Yeah, sorry. Avengers 4. I'm getting ahead of myself a bit.

It is true that merchandise shows Thanos with a complete set, but then Thanos merchandise likely would be incomplete if he didn't have the full set - that, and by giving him the full set via merchandise, but not via he cinematic feature would be an interesting spin on events.

We've seen (via trailers and teasers) that Thanos has, what? Three of the stones? I honestly can't see how he can be defeated (from a MCU perspective) if he has the entire set active at once; he could literally tear open the entire universe and not one of the Avengers is powerful enough to stop him, even if one tries, all Thanos has to do is stop and/or reverse time.

For the MCU deal, it wouldn't surprise me if Thanos never has a full set, and that one (or more) of the other stones are actually used to defeat him.

True merchandising shouldn't be an indicator of what is shown in film (i.e. Lego), but to me the perfect way to end the film would be with Thanos getting all the stones and winning. I forget where I saw this (either this forum or another) but someone thought a good way to end Infinity War would be using that panel from the beginning of Infinity Gauntlet where Thanos snapped his fingers and instantly killed off half of the universe. They can have Thanos snap his fingers then cut to black (though I bet there would be a percentage of people would get pissed at that lol).

I'd have thought such a scene would be better for the first of the end credit scenes. ;)

Still begs the question of how someone like that (with that much power) can be defeated. None of our Heroes are remotely tough enough!

I have no theories on where it is
But my vote goes to: On a random planet Thanos destroys in the cold open, which serves to both expand the universe more than having another stone on earth would, and quickly establishing Thanos and the Black Orders badass bonafides

Do we have confirmation that Thanos gets all of the stones in IW?:

That's a good point. NOTHING so far, says that thantos gets all the stones in IW #1..

Logically they couldn't. So some technobabble, or other method would have to get pulled out to allow the heroes to win.

The Quantum Realm. I think we will see it is what is powering the Ghost in Antman & the Wasp.

But, given my track record on the stones.... yeah, about a 5% chance of that being true.
