- As we reported last week, the backstage reaction to Vince McMahon's promo on Raw this week was said to be pretty bad, as most felt it was not one of Vince's best performances. Reports are now indicating that the promo was heavily edited before it aired on Raw Monday night.

- In the latest #August1Warning teaser video, former WWE and WCW star Bill Goldberg is dismissed as being the possible mystery TNA man who will be revealed tomorrow on Impact:

Good god, if Big E speared me, I would disappear into a cloud of dust.

*PSSSHHHH!* little particles of Pink Ranger go floating through the air, never to be seen or heard from again!!

Just throwing a piece of fantasy booking in here! :D

Tyson Kidd is due back towards the end of the year from a bad injury, if WWE promote his comeback I could see him getting into the IC title mix and a feud with Axel. They could use the same track as their NXT feud with Axel goading Kidd over the fact he's not a real Hart. At WrestleMania Axel w/Heyman vs Kidd W/Bret Hart, Tyson Kidd the new IC Champion.

What about having Jimmy Hart come back to manage Tyson Kidd and Natalya?

I wonder if that autograph is real or a pre-print. If it's real, I'm pre-ordering as soon as I leave the office.

I'd expect it to be real. Austin signed every card that was included in his special edition version of WWE 13. I have one of them myself. Therefore, I'd expect them to do a similar deal this time around with Taker.

Tyson and Natalya celebrating with the IC and Diva's title would be a nice moment

That would be awesome!

I'd love to see that.

some more info on the attack on Randy Orton
I was at the Cape Town event last night. The incident with the fan and Randy Orton may be a work. The "fan" is a local wrestler called Blacksmith. He trains regularly (4- 5 days a week) at the gym where I am a manager. Adding fuel to the matter is that some people who were in attendance claim that the event security opened up a gap towards the finish of the Orton/Langston match where the "fan"/Blacksmith was able to enter the ring.

WZ reader M. Huntley has sent in the following:

The guy who 'attacked' Randy Orton during last night's event at the Gran West Arena was local South African wrestler The Blacksmith. Many fans in the arena found the whole incident strange and suspicious as he was posing for photos before the show with fans who recognized him. He was sitting 5 or 6 rows in front of my friends and I
. He entered the ring when the event crew backed-off from the security spots giving him the window to proceed into the ring. Everyone on the bus home was suspicious about the whole thing, a few people reckon its a WWE publicity stunt to sell tickets or to take away attention from TNA's August1 videos given the fact that people would be watching footage of Orton's so-called attack.

WZ reader Daniel Hayward has sent in the following:

I attended this infamous WWE event last night. People were posing for photos with the guy who attacked Randy Orton last night. The attacker is a domestic wrestler called The Black Smith. The general feeling in South Africa is that this whole thing is a PR stunt and not a legitimate incident as that of the Pieter van Zyl, the fan who attacked a referee in an international rugby match between South Africa and New Zealand back in 2002 which was a legitimate occurrence. Sorry to burst the bubble, but this thing was planned. The Black Smith was a plant. No Steve Bartman incident here.

Editor's Note: While the above reports are nothing more than speculation at this point, it is interesting that WWE contacted WZ just minutes after the incident happened last night, offering us an official statement. Couple that with the fact that WWE.com is hyping the story as a "violent attack" on Randy Orton and has posted fan footage of the incident, one could speculate that this is indeed a work.

In the past, when fans have breached security and entered a WWE ring, and/or talent has been struck by a fan in any way, WWE typically remains quiet about it and never publicizes it.

On the other hand, however, in this case, Randy Orton did retaliate against the fan and hit him, so this could also be a case of WWE covering themselves against any negative PR they might encounter due to Orton striking back

Though Vince McMahon's television character is portrayed as having a strong distaste for Daniel Bryan, in reality, Vince thinks quite highly of the wrestler.

In response to a rumor on the F4WOnline.com message board concerning McMahon's relationship with Bryan, Dave Meltzer revealed how Vince perceives Bryan. McMahon legitimately believes he taught Bryan "how to be a star"; according to Meltzer.

"Vince believes he took a guy who was very good technically but had no personality and taught him how to be a star wrote Meltzer. "If anything, he believes he was more right than anyone on him"

I get what Vince is trying to say, but it comes off like he might be downplaying Bryan's talent. I mean if Vince could make anyone a star, then he wouldn't have so many failed pet projects.

Now Bryan might not have always had the best mic skills but as far as personality goes, Bryan was never the boring "Geek" that he was played off as prior to him cashing in the Briefcase.

A WWE writer said that Vince came up with the over the top win celebration idea, but Bryan has said the use of the word "Yes" was his idea. Bryan isn't completely devoid of personality though. If he was no amount teaching would help him.

Yep if he was devoid of personality, he'd be Jack Swagger essentially

Surprised at how much I got into the match between Barrett and Truth. That closing stretch had me entertained. Could have bought either one of them winning with some of those moves. Both came out of that match looking good.

I the Orton thing was a work I fail to see how it benefited WWE.

What about having Jimmy Hart come back to manage Tyson Kidd and Natalya?

Well other than back in the 80's Jimmy Hart is actually more Hogan's manager and friend. I think having Bret at the 30th Mania with the next generation of Hart's would be cool.

Tyson and Natalya celebrating with the IC and Diva's title would be a nice moment

It really would be, in fact throw in a few Hart's and combine it Owen's HOF induction the night before.

That would be awesome!

I'd love to see that.

 I'm really hoping that even if it doesn't go the way I suggested, Tyson Kidd gets a proper push when he returns.

One thing I'm wondering is whose intelligence is the WWE trying to insult with this "ugly duckling" angle for Natalya?....She looks and wrestles better than both Bellas combined.

Any way, The earlier part of my afternoon, I was watching Natalya matches and man is she a master of her craft.

Check out her match with Ivory in 2006 and look back at her match with Beth Phoenix from last year to see why I say that.

She should be next in line to feud with AJ Lee for the title once this feud with the Bellas runs its course.

Hunter: The Orton-fan-incident made it to TMZ, if it was a work then WWE got national coverage on it for non-wrestling fans to see, now whether or not they care is another story. I'm assuming the latter. I also don't think this was a work.

I've always been a Natalya mark and she is the only current diva besides AJ that I care about,Very underrated in the ring and in looks

WWE just released another statement to say it's not a work. I guess TMZ coverage might count for something but is that reaching a new audience? I'd say the successful launch of Total Divas was better publicity.
