Possible movement on Black Widow spin-off?

With how non-committal and non-specific Feige has been with Phase 4, not surprised to see him think a BW solo may fit in now.

You've got a very popular character featured in a handful of wildly successful flicks portrayed by one of the world's most popular film stars. A Black Widow solo flick is pretty close to a sure thing.

Id like to see Natasha retired and living with her husband (Not Bruce!) in the suburbs post Infinity War when an event - a former colleague resurrecting the Red Room program? - gets her back into the game like a tiny pretty Liam Neeson.

I think you could do a Black Widow movie toplined by Scarlett Johansson. You probably just couldn't justify a $200 million budget.

As far as villains go, you could probably repurpose some other villains into her story. IE, Ghost has been made a villain for Ant-Man and the Wasp. Also been turned into a female.

Or you could have her face Yelena Belova as an evil Black Widow. Also what about Count Nefaria? He's a major rogue they haven't used yet.

I could see Marvel taking the Deadpool/Logan approach to a Black Widow movie and doing it R-rated and low budget, and relatively small in scale.

Should have been made in phase two. But whatever, it could be a really interesting spy film.

Seems just as random as Kitty Pryde movie announcement. seems a bit like it is after the time it should have come out. Also isn't Red Sparrow already the Black Widow movie?

Are you basing it on the different reactions there seems to be across the interwebs regarding the two announcements, or the fact that Widow (and her popularity) has been established over 5 MCU films to date?

I'd substitute random with no-brainer.

Unlike Kitty Pryde, this film has a chance of getting made.

And Red Sparrow isn't the first female led spy film.

I'm sure if any other studio did this everyone would be side eyeing them. I forgot though this is Marvel so they don't make mistakes even when waiting a solid ten years to even entertain the idea of a Black Widow movie. :whatever:

Knowing Marvel, this will be nothing like Red Sparrow. It kinda should, but it won't. I think fan pressure on Marvel to do this film has finally paid off.

Better late than never. Also Avengers 4 spoilers :woot:

2. And Red Sparrow isn't the first female led spy film.

1.So... it still is random and after the fact.

2. Duh I'm just saying it is already beating BW to the punch it seems with a lot of similar beats as to how you would assume this film would be. Hopefully they can find a way to make it unique.

I have no idea wht you are going on about, I wanted a BW film 5 years ago, but we're getting it now...Should I pi** and moan that it may have come a little late because we may finally be getting one? Explain that entitled mentality to me.

I could care less about this film that's why. Explain to me why you insist on defending everything Disney does so vehemently.

There is nothing random about it, people have been clamoring for a BW film for years. How is announcing hiring a script writer random? Guardians of the Galaxy was more random, this seems like a natural next step for the character.

Absolutely nothing like Kitty Pryde.

When do I do that? I just really pay attention to Marvel.

And if you don't care, why are you here? Find something better to do with your time.

A wolverine mature series that chronicled his tales would be dope. Could probably be done on a nice and tight budget too, except for when it comes to omega red who I definitely want to see.

I love the general direction phase 4 is heading in if this indeed comes to fruition. Smaller scale productions/storylines with BW and Spiderman HC sequel would be a great way to kickstart the next set of movies and are always a welcome addition for me!

If you watch Banshee, You could totally see how they could make Red work on a low budget.

Take it down a couple notches. Not sure why you're getting so irritated over people happy that this film may be happening.

Because when Kitty Pryde was announced some of the same people said how it doesn't make since to make it now but it does for this. There's some hypocrisy in that. I didn't even start anything people replied to me not the other way around. Just because I'm not as happy about this doesn't mean I don't want others to be.

^Yeah it would be off brand too much to go R-rated.

Says the person who trolls the X-Men boards with your "MCU is better" remarks. Take your own advice.:whatever:
