I always envisioned something very industrial and mechanical like the older fan-made videos, which were great. But I have a feeling it'll be more fluid and pretty (and fake IMHO) like the newer Citreon stuff. I have no doubt there will be hints of morphing.

It's not meant as a slur. It just means they chose morphing over a mechanical transformation.

Just look at the first truck. There's no way they can hide three more cars under that body without creating them on the fly. It's probably why they zoom in and out a lot.

If it looks fake- like no way it could happen with normal physics- then yes. It might look cool as in T2 bad guy cool... but for TRANSFORMERS it is cheating.

If it cannot be replicated by a model (maybe a very, very expensive one) then to me it is cheating.

The Citreon stuff looks nice but I agree with you that it is a little too fluid. It does not give the sense of heavy mass. A little too human-like. While I don't think they should move as mechanically as that first VW Bug fan made short I think their presence onscreen should evoke a feeling of heavy machinery rather than a Will Smith dance-a-thon.

Is that the show where the guy had to be really nice to the car or it wouldn't open up he door or drive for him? Kinda like knightrider but with a woman car instead of a male car.

Like he would have to say 'you look really nice today' and the car would open its door but if he was all pissy with it it'd just stay locked.

Nah man thats not what i mean. I've seen that Knightrider show and it made me want to cry is was so ****!

The show im talking about started something like this;

The guy was always timing himself to see how long he could hold his breath under water (random i know but i only remember a few things from it) he got it up to like three mins i think.

One scene i remember with the car was the both of them on some posh busy american shopping street and he'd just got back to the car which had decided it wasn't going to open its door for him cause the guy was being rude/horrible to it. SO he had to be all like 'look you know im sorry for being rude please open up. you look relaly nice today' and then BAM! the car opened up. At the same time some woman was walking past with one of those crappy Paris Hilton type dogs and was giving him a weird look.

I only have the most random of memories about this show and the red car above may have nothing to do with it at all, but i just thought i'd check with you guys. I've been trying to remember what the show was called for years! It's like when you see someone in a film and you spend the duration trying to figure out what else you've seen them in.

The show with the morphing car was called VIPER. I do seem to remember Knight Rider 2000 (came out in 91 or something)... with a female car that was red and could go on water like a boat....

[edit] Ehh.. seems I'm all confused. I could have sworn KITT was a chic in Knight Rider 2000. Whatever. They all sucked compared to the original show.
