Yeah, not the BEST image of Superman but I think this is one of the most familiar to me. I remember just looking at this page over and over and over again when I was a kid. Anything by Dan Jurgens is definitive Superman for me.

why do you say that? i think its a valid contender for the best superman pic. it's so epic, and so familiar, and i think it's very well drawn too. i like it for the same reasons you did. you can't get over it, even if you obviously know its gonna happen.

Its the same in my book as well. Its just not him being displayed as the "norm" of what you think of Superman, thats why I said that. I believe thats what strikes most about it though, heres a man, no one thought could ever die, and hes takin his last breath.
