The Dark Knight Post Pictures Of Things You Really Want To See In 'The Dark Knight'

I do love the shot in Begins where he is on top of the building like a gargoyle but I would love a close up even CG from up over his shoulder had he watches the city below.

If any artist's take on Batman could translate to cinema, it's Jae Lee's. His lighting and overall atmosphere is what BB felt like it was trying to achieve. This is EXACTLY what I'd want TDK to look like.

Thoughts?

Everyone complaining that this looks terrible, and then saying that Burton's Batmobile sucked because it went for looks over practicality miss the point that this is far more realistic and practical than the tumbler because it actually protects the wheels and that ****ing huge jet engine in the back.

I have always mentioned in Tumbler thread how the front wheels should be covered only to be mocked for it. It would be quit simple to loose Batman in a chase if you where a criminal, just shoot the front wheels out. I love the tumbler but I do maintain that the front atleast should be covered

Well, you do post crap.

I'm sure they're bullet resistant, seeing as it was orginally intended as a military vehicle(and yes, they are such things as bullet resistant tires). Hell, the whole thing is probabley already sheilded against bullets. If it wasn't, that would be just stupid.

I play Fail Cock in attack mode.

I've always wondered about the absurdity of someone suggesting the probability of criminals shooting the tires off a moving vehicle that would always be moving at speeds in excess of 50mph during a chase sequence (the only time they would even think of shooting tires of a vehicle) when most people can't even properly hit the center of a stationary target.

Listen like I said if you want to continue personal attacks then PM me. This is the stuff on the boards that just shouldn't be here. I am just speaking from what I know. My dad was a commanding officer in the U.S Army. Him and I had this exact conversation. Hummers have bullet resistant tires but they are still able to be shot out. There is no such thing as a bullet PROOF tire. And at fifty miles an hour if Batman is say following a truck with criminals say carrying heavy arms along with them, you don't have to be an accurate shot to blow a tire out with an sub machine gun. If you send 30 rounds at the front of the car, bullet resistant or not, it will puncture a tire.

If you're talking about me, dude, I don't have nothing against you.

Right. But what if Batman gets those nifty self-inflating tire gizmos that Bond had on his BMW in Tomorrow Never Dies? Or how about saying the tires have a second layer of kevlar fabric below the thread surface? Ah, there goes the tire argument. ;)

In a chase scene, I hardly think Batman will tail a suspect's car for the crooks to knock his tires out (he'll technically put them out of commission the first chance he gets). Already he will be moving a lot and dodging traffic at high speeds for them to land nothing more than a few good shots at the Tumbler itself, let alone it's tires. Also, even with an automatic weapon, shooting at specific points on your target while moving at high speeds is pretty damn hard, even for highly trained expert shots because aside from the fast moving target, the velocity of the wind will also affect bullet trajectory (especially if they are shooting sideways) which will only contribute to the inaccuracy.

I haven't read all you post I just want you to know I am not directing my comment at you.

I see your points and they are great points. My dad and I were discussing about a capsel that is being developed that when is put in the center of the tire along the rim. When the tire is shot and goes flat, it cracks the casing around the capsel and foam fills and hardens reinflating the tire. I have no problem if they keep the tumbler the way it is, I loved the car. I just posted the pictures for the thoughts of the other posters. Thats it!

See? A little bit of imagination and a little bit of factual research goes a long way towards warding off lengthy and unnecessary discussions on such trivial nitpicking. ;)

I agree, but for the average view, you know Joe Schmoe that comes in to watch the movie, it may have to be explained in a sentence or two in the movie.
