FIRST POST, might even be a bit controversial
1. The Avengers (9.5)
- the best, got everything just right
2. Iron Man (9.0)
- MCU is owed to this one. Great movie
3. Thor (8.5)
- Was always a tough proposition, but a flawless cast made this one of the better ones. Credit to MJS too.
4. Thor: The Dark World (8.5)
- Up the the standard of it's predecessor, and Hiddlestones Loki was superb.
5. The Incredible Hulk (8.0)
- A good effort to save The Hulk from movie extinction. I enjoyed it throughout, was never bored and Norton is still my No.1 BB. Ruffolo was great in Avengers, but still feel it would have been better had Norton returned.
6. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (8.0)
- Great movie, beautiful visuals, but there were a few moments which annoyed me which I don't want to say too much about in case of spoilers, but I would have scored this higher if it wasn't for at least 3/4 serious gripes.
7. Iron Man 2 (7.5)
- Bit naff at times, but it grew on me after repeated watches.
8. Captain America: The First Avenger (7.5)
- On the positive side, I really enjoyed this one. I just feel it was let down by the fact that Marvel wanted to rush through the Cap back story in time for Avengers. We never really got to see the Cap/Skull feud develop into the rivalry it deserved to be. Needed two movies to get everything right, but sadly that was not to be, because Avengers was coming up and the Cap was needed.
9. Iron Man 3 (4.0)
- EASILY the weakest outing to date IMV. I think it fell down due to Shane Black not really understanding what Marvel fans wanted. Oh, how the trailer promised so much, teasing us with the Mandarin, only for THAT plot twist. Oh, and the finale? Bah - we need an Iron Man 4 to fix this mess.
