Bus shelter poster spotted in Burbank, Califronia....

Bus stop poster on Hollywood Way just outside Burbank Airport -- Monday, 6.5.06, 9:05 pm.

Landed in Burbank's Bob Hope Airport last night around 8:10 pm, and the first movie image to catch my eye -- at a bus stop on Hollywood Way -- was the chick-flicky one-sheet for Superman Returns. This is the best poster image WB marketers have come up with for this film yet. If I were gay or female I could see being really intrigued, but it has a cross-gender pull. It should have been the teaser poster way back when. The first Superman Returns junket screenings begin later this week, so there's no reading how well the chick-flick angle plays but there would be irony, surely, if it winds up connecting with more females than Warner Bros.'s The Lake House (6.16), which is clearly more of an overt appeal to the XX quadrant. I'm wondering because of the rumble over this one, but let's hold off on that for now.

Wow. That is one bigass billboard poster up there. It really remind me of the teaser poster with the "S" logo (expect it was silver color instead of red/yellow) & the color streak. Great find, Retro. It's so amazing SR is getting promoted like hell all over the world now. And I thought some fans complain SR isn't getting enough hype.

A stage where an event was held yesterday at a mall here, drawing contests, question and answer contests, etc... they were showing STM in the big screen, and selling Superman related materials. They also had a backdrop for photoshoots, free pictures were given I think to people who bought DVDs/VCDs...

sure thing retro, they had another bigger billboard but it was on the other side of the high-way, so aside from me driving, I really couldn't capture it with my camera phone cause it was far, but it was a product tie-in as well, with Hanford, a men's underwear brand.

Here are two of my sightings:

I have posted this before in another thread but right on the main interstate 95/128 heading North in Massachussetts there is a HUGE Imax. I think it's the biggest IMAX theater in the country, there is a giant Superman Returns Billboard on the side of the building itself. It looks like the teaser IMAX poster with the angled \S/. Very good placement.

I was in Bentonville Arkansas on business weeks ago and there was a huge Pepsi-Superman Billboard with photos of Routh and the gimmick they are running, which I think is find Luthor and win 1 million or what not.

Not only that but Wal-Mart is running a campaign for father's day and I think it is something like "My Dad \S/ My Hero" They are flashing the \S/ logo all over the store. I might have posted this somewhere as well.
