I was surfing around and found Tim Burgard (storyboarder for several films including X3 and Superman Returns, I guess) site, and came across a illustration of Superman blasting heat vision to a giant spider!!!!

timburgardSR.jpg

this is the illustration I mentioned.

timburgardSRproperties.jpg

look in the image properties box, especially in the "Endereço (URL)" line where it reads "http://www.timburgardart.com/images/film/supermanreturns.jpg"

Could this be any indication of Jon Peters hatefull ideas for Superman Lives (Burton era)????

Just thought a I should share this with everybody.

peters: you know why we get superman? ............because we are from the streets hahahahaha :D

that's from the Superman Lives era, not Superman Returns... thank God that idea was scrapped.

I know that... but see the name of the file... it´s saved under supermanreturns.jpg... why??

I honestly have no idea... maybe it was a proposed title for the movie before they changed it to Superman Lives...

awwww c'mon guys these movie would have been a total success and we all know it :oldrazz:

hmm though it always sounded dumb to me... in hindsight, I'd take that giant spider over big chunk of slowly growing, glass shattering, emp causing, krypto rock.

I think the kid idea is also his (with Singer's approval). Remember in LUITS when he said he wanted to go the "Star Wars" route with Superman, well, a son with powers was introduced in the SR film. . . . Father VS. Son is a possibility.

**vomits**

Let's not forget the script he approved that had Supes' die, and "magically" be reborn through a pregnant Lois. He then ages 30 YEARS in a week or two, just in time to "save the day".

Burton/Peters probably would have sucked, maybe even worse than Superman Returns, however, Kevin Smith knows more about Supes than everyone involved in Returns. I would have loved to see a Superman movie written by someone who actually knows who Superman is.

That said, Smith was fired in the middle of pre-production so the Burton/Peters movie would have probably been without the Smith script. No matter what we would have gotten, at least it wouldn't have been boring though.
