And you can take 7 days off from here. Your bypassing the censors and attacks on people is not acceptable.

PEOPLE**PEOPLE**PEOPLE

Grow up....stop the name calling...stop the attacks....stop trying to feel cool by cursing and bypassing the censors to curse.

What emotional weight?

Didnt you notice during both scene's that EVERYONE in the cinema was watching in silence? Both hold more emotional weight than any scene in POTC 2 IMO.

Exactly right, did anyone truly care about the characters in POTC 2 or connect with them. It was completely hollow and filled with poorly written caricatures typical of a Bruckheimer movie. If you guys want to put a movie up against Superman Returns at least pick something that is actually good and not a movie, and I use that term very loosely, aimed solely at five year olds.

^I did enjoy POTC 2, i thought it was fun, but SR was just a better all round movie.

That ''superman4ever!'' pal was getting on my nerves. He reminded me of spider-freddie. Maybe they are the same guy? you'd think he would have learned from all his previous bans.

Oh, and Superman Returns rocks, dammitt.

Most of the audience had already left by that point; there was nothing, no emotional weight in SR holding their interest. Nobody walked out on POTC 2.

People were still talking during both scenes at my performance. They wer not very emotional at the theaters I watched it at.

Both times I went the theater was dead silent during both of those scenes, and nobody left the theater. That was the first time I ever heard that people left the theater.

As opposed to being mentally ******ed in liking POTC2. I swear to God the air heads that like that film are the same ones that say they can't watch older films because they're to slow and "complicated" or my personal favorite " I can't watch old films cause they're in black and white." Look at what Batman Begins made, here finally was a great mature version of Batman that should have made double what it did but it was too much for the mindless sheep. If that's what the general wants they're welcome to it at least I got my version of Superman back that made it's money back and not the POTC2 version .

FYI

I find this post extermely distasteful and quite rude and in violation of board rules by attacking well a couple hundred million peoples opinions and calling them mentaly ******ed for liking a better made movie.

If you felt it was ok MOD's to ban a person who responded to this well this person should also be banned as well for calling people air heads and mentaly ******ed and it would be easy to say the same thing about people who liked SR kktnx.

Yes it does!!!!!!!

You are another one who should be banned for saying that. And don't you ever take God's name in vain like that ever again. You are going to answer to Him for that one of these days.

SCLJ, give me a break. I think He gave a few choice words too when He lost his temper

It's a Bruckheimer film, by that definition alone it can never be a better made movie. He's stuff always panders to the lowest common denominator so people that want less demanding entertainment will always like this stuff.

Back on topic.

One of the things that really surprised me from the VFX guy was that basically some scenes were left in the movie "because they looked cool" and others were taken out because the singer family gave it a thumbs down.

I like stuff that looks cool but yes I think part of my issue with the movie was that some stuff wasn't thought through during the editing beyond it looking cool.

After I saw returns the first time, it did seem like parts were just there for the sake of being there and looking cool, no other reason than that. And someone told me a long time ago that this is just bad filmmaking in referrence to some of the excess cgi stuff lucas likes to keep throwing into his star wars movies.

He said it doesn't help the story or anything like that, leave it out. I agree.

For example since it's just what I took from the film after seeing it and perhaps the vfx guy is talking about this when he says some stuff was put in just because it looked cool...

The childhood flashback. Imagine the film without it. It looks cool, yes... undeniable. But imagine the movie without it and I think you'd not miss it.

Dog eat Dog. Nuff said. It wasn't funny when I thought that one of the dogs just ran away and we're meant to assume the cute dog ate the other one but of course it'd be silly... now it's even less funny since some say the dog really ate the other one. Ugh, just cut it out. What does this have to do with superman returning....

In fact, just scrap the entire gertrude crap and have lex already be rich and doing his evil villain thing. I think here again is something we'd not miss, especially the little girl screaming at a wig. I'd say get rid of kitty but unfortunately since singer decided to copy stm, she has to play the teschmacher in those remake scenes. She sucks though so I would really just rather not have her and work things out another way.

Superman spying. I'll be nice and say ok the spying at the office wasn't so bad, but it's still un-superman and un-clark. What would his mom think? He could have accidentally encountered lois and richard discussing superman instead of following them everywhere like that. A little spying isn't that bad, like I said but going to their house is pushing it. I'd cut the whole scene and wouldn't miss it. It's cliche anyway. I've seen the "no I don't love him" thing a billion times already honestly on those teen drama shows and stuff like that, even smallville might have had an episode where that happened, I don't know... It doesn't work here since jimmy says flat out that he thinks she still loves you know who. Why does anyone expect us to buy that she doesn't love supes when she's lois lane, and of course she does.

What else could have been cut...

The stupid thing with the "have you found a place to life yet." and the suit cases. Someone explain what this was about and maybe I'll take it off my list of things to cut.

Oh there's more.. I can feel it in my brain but my memory is really screwed up right now after work.

Oh wait... anything involving a jesus referrence. I like those referrences that could easily appear not to be referrences and maybe you have to dig a little for commentary to get it confirmed...

I don't know what to say to those bashing the vfx guy and the writer of pirates. I'm a big enough fan of superman (No I don't have every issue ever or a collection of toys and such but I still drew him all the time during math class same as any average fan I guess) and I want him to get the best treatment so when I see how fortunate singer is that people are willing to give him a free pass with returns, it's a little disheartening honestly. But that's the nature of the internet, I find. Maybe some are studio interns like the director of hulk said, maybe some really really though returns was the best ever!!1eleven. Me, I'm hoping for better than this. And I'm glad someone in the industry is too.

There were a lot cooler stuff they could have done. Except for the eye shot thing, we saw everything in there before in other movies, and done better. So they weren't that cool as they were almost like the overuse of bullet time in ever damn film mimicing the matrix.

It felt so tacked on. Like "Hey. We spent all the money on that stuff so we have to have a few shots of it in the movie."

****ing hated this scene. It was pointless and went nowhere. What I also hated more was the pullback to see Lex is stuck on an island that is shaped like a pork chop. Why? It was so stupid. Why. They spent money on rendering and working out all the complexities of that one useless shot.

I didn't mind that. They were going along the Superman 2 timeline where he did try to sink California but was released. But I thought it was too corny. Make it seedier. And have Kitty have been more like Mercy. I don't htink there is one person that would have complained if Kitty was like Mercy and along the lines of Xenia Onatop from Goldeneye. A bad ass chick who is in it for the money and has no heart, and that is why she loves Lex. He only cares about himself and that is why she is attracted to him. Can you imagine how much better the scene would have been if, when NK starts breaking up, Kitty bolts to the chopper with the crystals, after her own agenday, and Lex catches up with her, they struggle over the crystals, and then the crystals fall out of the case and, at that moment, the croudn gives way a bit and they have no time to grab them and they just both jump into the chopper. Even with the stupid SR storyline, in my opinion would have been much better.

It would have been better if he had been flying overhead and had seen all of them out in the backyard having a barbacue dinner, and Richard and Lois playing with Jason having a good time, and Superman seeing them happy and Lois happy without him. Just hovering in the air above them. Not looking throught the walls. Just flying overhead to do something else and recognizing Lois's voiice beloe.

This was someting from the George Reeves' show that no one remembers because not many people saw. If your going to make a sequel to Superman 2, which is what they did (I hate that vague history crap) make it on that timeline and nothing else. Also that damn Great Ceasar's Ghost thing. Yeah Perry said it in the 40's when people talked like that. Now it just seems stupid.

I agree there might have been a great story there, but Singer said he took the bridge scene out as there was a bridge scene in X3. Seems like he had money he just spent it on stupid stuff like an island that looks like a damn pork chop.

There was a bridge scene? What happened in that scene?

Was before the movie came out, in between X-mens release. Singer said he had a bridge rescue scene when the waves come to Metropolis, but after he heard about the X-men 3 bridge scene, he took it out of production as he didn't want to do the same thing. I don't even think it got filmed.

Since there was a bridge scene in STM also.....it's a good thing he left it out of SR....there was enough things lifted from it as it was.
