Power Girl question.

Ok so I have a huge gripe with a situation involving Power Girl. Ok it has been established that she is the cousin Of Kal-L, or Earth-2 Superman. It also has been established that she is affected by Kryptonite correct? Well how is it that she can be afffected by Kryptonite but Earth-2 Superman was not affected at all, and in fact nearly scoffed at the stuff when Batman tried to use it on him in Infinite Crisis #3?

probably because of all the time she spent on the new Earth, the kryptonite most likely had slow effects on her and kept on growing and she became another regular New Earth kryptonian.

I think it's because Power Girl is part of "New Earth" while the group that was in the pocket universe still kept the properties of their respective Earths.

How convenient...lol. Thanks for the input...so is she the one the Auctioneer was referring to as the third Kryptonian in the Busiek Action Comics arc..and if so why is everyone acting as though it will be a huge storyline?

I think this is a mistake that was not noticed until recently, and now they are trying to cover their tracks. I have to give it to them, they are good at fixing little mishaps like that.

He was refuring to the kid in the current Donner/Johns run.

That's a good point. But if he was really referring to Power Girl, Superman would have been like, "Oh, he's talking about me, Kara, and Kara." Instead he was like, "What? There's three of us? Since when?"

It could just be chalked up to Superman having a brain fart.

Well if that is the case, why wouldn't Supes think "Whats the big deal? 3 Kryptonians, I already knew that." or when he finds the kid he would harken back and say "Dumbass Auctioneer, he forgot about Power Girl!"?

Well as they explained PG's origin, all the previous varying random-ass explanations of her origin were just fluctuations in reality due to the universe trying to account for her being in it. Or some **** like that. So her previous vulnerability to our Earth-1 Kryptonite was probably such a fluctuation, which is no longer operative as reality's more or less for the time being sorted itself out.

In short - blame Hypertime (which doesn't exist).

That'd be a pretty big brain fart since Busiek's scripts have him learning multiple languages and reading books at a supersonic level, all the while retaining every bit of knowledge...
