Drama Power on STARZ

I mean certain aspects could have definitely been done better, and I still feel as if the first half and the middle section of this season was a lot stronger, but overall I actually didn't mind how it ended and honestly it pretty much ended how I expected it too. I got a good chuckle out of that after credits scene to with Carl Gallagher from Shameless playing a younger version of Tommy lol. Now, that was something I didn't see coming.
The Carl Gallagher as Tommy was funny. But as this last season goes I think they could've done a much better job especially with the second half of the season. But what's done is done but to me this season was done poorly or lazy writing. However I love how they showed how important Angie was to Jamie because it was like she was his moral compass and without her he fell hard and fast.

Finally finished this and this unfortunately will go down as one of those great shows with big letdowns of an ending. This show was always trashy Soap Opera fun but the writing was always really clever and compelling. Season 6 went out with a whimper though.

The thing that really pissed me off was how Ghost was written at the end. Ghost was never a “good” person but there was always a cool charm and likeability to him and for better or worse he was a master plotter and always tried to find the best scenario where everyone he cared about came out alive and out of jail...even Tommy. Ghost always looked out for his people. But in the last chunk of episodes the writers purposely wrote Jaime in such a way that you hate him and i guess dont feel so bad when he gets shot by you know who. His final interactions with the cast were so wildly out of character, it was like he was a supervillain or something all of a sudden. That right there put me at a disconnect but whatever.

Not the worst series finale ever but disappointing nonetheless.

Couldn't agree more the only in character part about him in the last season was when he told Tommy not to shoot you know who after Tommy arrived and saw him. As I said before I just chalk it up to Angie being gone and she was like it or not his moral compass of good while for the most part Tasha & Tommy were like the little devil on his shoulder and with Angie gone he just fell hard and fast. But I hated this last season and thought it was a complete waste of an other wise solid series. It made me not wanting to watch or even caring about the spin-offs.

Yup, i aint watching none of these spinoffs. The writers purposely wrote Ghost in a despicable manner so that you feel him getting shot is deserved but that was sloppily done. They were trying to tell us Ghost was the real villain of the show all along. BS.

i also think Starz has some audacity to greenlight all these spinoffs thinking they will be anywhere near successful as the original show. Talk about milking this cow to the last drop.

See here's what gets me we all knew Ghost was bad and I could even deal with the way they wrote him this season if there was some build up to it. Meaning you spend a whole season showing him go dark and down that rabbit hole. However when you spend 5 seasons showing him trying to get out the game and become a respectable person and only doing what he does to protect or provide a better life for his family then how they wrote him this season doesn't work. If him losing his daughter and being unjustly blamed for it (when everything for the most part was his sons fault) doesn't turn him that dark then losing Angie shouldn't have either (well that quickly anyways) you should've spent a season showing how losing everything truly effected him and how having no one to turn to or confide in made him go that way that when the next season starts you'll understand his death.

Sounds like the same problem a certain OTHER very popular show ran into and dropped the ball on in their final season recently ;)

Sometimes the writers just say f*** it when theyre nearing the finish line I guess.

Not really looking forward to this since they made Tariq so unlikable or interesting after the second season.

On a side note anybody following The Chi or P-Valley. Those shows are excellent.

Yeah I don't know about this show either since Tariq being the lead doesn't sound appealing at all to me considering how unlikable his character has become, but I'm willing to give the first couple of episodes a chance. Also, I have been watching both The Chi and P-Valley and both of those shows are immensely entertaining, especially P-Valley.

Emmitt is a fool for cheating on Tiff. Especially with La-La. It would take a lot for me to cheat on her. With P-Valley I love the show but hate how they made Autumn so unlikable. I mean I get why she is stand offish and cold but she is just really unlikable right now.

I was almost rooting for Emmitt too, but then I remembered that this dude never learns, so I pretty much expected it and at least now we know why they killed off La-La this past season lol. Mercerdes and Uncle Clifford are easily the best and most interesting characters on P-Valley IMO with Autumn definitely being the most unlikable.

For those who never seen the Chi look up Tiffany/Tiff from the The Chi and tell me if you would cheat on her. But you right about Uncle Clifford he cracks me up on that show.

You should really catch up the last two have been great. Although Brandon being gone has really left a hole in the show that is very much felt.

Yeah the first two seasons were great, but I'm still not sure about this season even though I am still kind of enjoying it which is exactly how I've been feeling about this new season of Yellowstone. Killing off Brandon and Reggie was definitely the wrong decision IMO, but I do like the fact that Kev is sort of the lead this season, because I've always really liked his character along with Jake and Papa.

The premier was very good but this show still leaves a bad taste in my mouth after how they ended the series. I am not mad that they killed Jamie and Angela but I just don't like how it was done and how the last season played out. Both could've been handled much better.

Yeah I feel you Calvin and it makes it even worse that we now have to endure a whole season with the person whose responsible for Jamie's death. I still don't like the idea of a Tariq lead show, but the premiere was solid and I'm interested in seeing what they do with Mary J. Blige's character.

See I can get behind Tariq as the lead if they didn't make him so unlikable for the past 3 seasons and if they wrote Jamie off in a better way. Meaning like Tommy killed him before learning the truth about his girlfriends death or even if Tariq showed some remorse for what he did because I thought they were going that way when Ghost stopped Tommy from killing him but instead they just double down on things. That's where my problem lies with this show. Plus the way Jamie was written all last season was just so out of character that it just didn't work.

Ghost so far has been good. Really liking it. Still having trouble with Tariq but this episode really helped improve him but he still should really get to know who his father was and they should've had him talk to Tommy about that more than anyone else since his mom wasn't too big of help.

Yeah the second episode was really good as well. It's still not on the level of Power, but I can say already that I'm enjoying it a lot more than The Chi: Season 3. Method Man as a lawyer is something I never would have been able to buy 5 or 10 years ago, but he's great in the role so far and I am loving the whole family dynamic with Mary J.Blige and her kids. Cane was especially ruthless and scary asf in this episode.

For some reason I see MJ's character taking Tariq under her wing and training him to be like his father and it all winding up with him and Cane going at it. Also yes this is already better than The Chi season 3. While season 3 was alright the only real highlight for me on that show was more of Tiffany. Anytime she was on the screen I was happy.

Rewatching Power it is sad to see where Jamie and his son ended up. I mean you can clearly see the love and respect between the two of them but with all the heads game Tariq had to go through with Kanan & Dre & Jukebox you can see how his mind got messed up and twisted. Very sad to see.
