Comics Praise be to the Gods! Romita RETURNS '08

Alright! It's about time. Too bad he's not the only one on Amazing Spider-Man, that he's just another name in the mosh pit of what's going to become ASM, but I'll take it. I've always been a fan of his work. He's the artist that got me into Spider-Man, him and Bags!

I know. The format may be iffy, but at least there's a good compromise. For me, Romita is the greatest Spider artist after the 'originals'- Ditko, Kane, Romita Sr....

Agreed. Now if the name Stern was attached to Romita's, life would be perfect.

WOW....Dan Slott and John Romita Jr. on Spidey...that'll be damn near impossible to pass up!

Very cool news. Looking forward to it. My only problem is that I'm running out of space to put my comics. I was going to quit buying them (last night I put together a book case for my comics and it is completely filled) but now....I cant do it. :o

:wow: Junior...Klaus Janson....AND Dan Slott???? All on one Spidey book???

<faints>

not excited about Romitas return...never liked his faces, and everything he does seems flat...no sense of depth to it...

Meh.

I got USED to him... back when he was the only artist on Amazing. But after Deodato, I knew I would not be happy about going BACK to the spindley, super skinny, wiry Spidey or the strange blocky-faced characters that Romita does.

I'm not saying he's not talented... I just don't prefer that look.

Sigh... I guess there could be worse.

Not that I will even be reading Amazing by then...

I'm not fond of the whole concept of bouncing around between teams... How many of you would like it if they rotated ACTORS in you favorite shows every month? And half the time you hated the way the ones they picked.

I'd just rather have a talented artist I liked stay on the same book for a long time... OBVIOUSLY that is not going to be happening... like EVER. :csad:

They are pulling out the stops though... I just think they know the upcoming story is going to be HUGELY unpopular.

Wonderful new's since I've loved his work on ASM a few year's back, and teaming him with Dan Slott is pure genius, definatley picking this up.

I've never been a fan.

Bah! I love Romita Jr.! But since I have a sinking feeling that I won't be reading past One More Day, it makes me sad.

Aloha,
That's where I'm at right now.To be a Spider-Man comic book collector, you must collect Amazing and related titles.I've decided to try and sell as much of my Alternate Universe and doubles within 616 SPidey Universe. 3 mazings a month is going to a LOT OF COMICS per year!
Spidey rules with Book space

One more day really scares me.But Slott an Romita kick so much ass.

:D That was pretty much my reaction when I heard the team too. It'll be great to see Janson back inking JR again...but I too am unsure if I'll be reading after OMD... :(

Is Janson really THAT good anymore?

I know he made a name for himself inking Frank Miller's stuff in the early 80's, but since that Electro 3 parter in Spider-Man #37, 38 & 39 (I think it's those issues) where he inked his own artwork, it just seemed "blah" to me.

Light the Night? Yea great story...not so great on the eyes tho lol :hyper:

Doesn't anyone want a NEW artist to make his/her staple and a NEW look for Spidey????

It's REALLY VERY ironic that most of us here want Spidey to move forward, and some are almost wishing death on JQ(?) because of this, yet, the same people want the same ol' look for Spidey decade after decade....

Bags and JRJr had an impact on Spidey for sure, but why on Earth should they keep drawing Spider-Man for multiple decades? I could see both of there tenures of Spidey get very 'wishy-washy and same ol' same ol,' near the end of their runs...

I guess we just like the art.

Lol, I didn't mean no one should like the art. Heck, I really dug both the guys' work on Spidey when they both 1st started to really sink their teeth in.

I was just pointing out the extreme irony, and posing a question at the same time.
