Doubtful with MJ's impendin' doom. I just hope naysayers will get on this damn book so they can enjoy quality Spidey in th' world of The Other.

Stop this crazy talk. MJ is NOT going anywhere!!

Any attempt to split up the marriage should be met with strong resistance, NOT "oh well, it's inevitable..."

It's gonna happen until they realize how bad an idea it was. And they won't realize fer a year after they do it.

Awesome. Gives me another chance to get into the book. I have the first SPider-Girl trade, and find the alternate universe interesting, but I never got around to reading regularly. If Amazing Spider-Man keeps up the way it is this is a good alternative.

I dunno...with sales on the book as dismal as they were, will a relaunch really be enough to keep this title afloat?

I'll honestly be surprised if it lasts 18 issues.

Aloha,
That may be the plan. Try and go for a new group of readers and project a low print run.The die hard fans will buy it either way. I know I will.
Spidey rules

I'll be buying it the whole way through myself... I hope it lasts longer than 18 issues, but I think Cap's got a good point.

Check out the more recent issues, from 60 onward or just issue 100 itself. The books tone and focus shifted a lot. This pretty much goes to anyone who read it before and said "eh, its not really for me" trust me, I know what you guys are thinking, the almost archie comic feel of the book, left during the high forties, as did the copycat`cardboard villians. Peter and MJ have played a much much larger role in the stories as well, and the creative team is essentially that of ASM 252 to 286

Try the book again, I know tons of people including many respectable members of this board*cough Shinyle cough* who gave the book a second chance and absolutly loved it. There is almost no past info you need to dwell on(Spider-Man has a daughter, and she's inherited his powers and sense of responsibility),and very few long decompressed story arcs. Give it a second chance, or hell give it a first, pick up ASG in October or backread the older issues with the excellent recent Hobgoblin arc. With all the stuff I hear about current Spidey and the sad state its in this is an alternative, that'll take you back to the carefree Spidey stories of old

I don't think he does, sales of Spider-Girl 97 and 98 went up and undoubtably 99 and 100's will be even higher. It just goes to show you that had Marvel put as much advertising ito Spider-Girl the whole time, as they had with 97-100 the book would've been much much more succesful.

With the relaunch, and massive hype geared towards it sales should be incredibly high, and as long as Marvel actually appeals to the mass market, like they promise to do, this book should be in for smooth sailing for the long run:up:
