If it looked more "normal" it would probably do better.

So...lets hate movies that try to be different?

Anyway I don't expect "What Happens in Vegas" will flop. It looks HORRID, but counterprogramming chick flicks always do well when the other options are action movies and Diaz has found a niche in that market.

The only chick flick females care about this summer is Sex and the City. And whatever poor boyfriend/husband gets dragged into Sex and the City WILL NOT agree to be dragged into stuff like Vegas.

I hate to say this but I don't think Hellboy 2 will do well as people hope. It comes out a week after Hanock. A Will Smith movie and a week before The Dark Knight.(Which will possibly be the movie of not only the summer but the entire year.)

Not to mention that the first Hellboy wasn't really THAT successful.

First Hellboy roks. But has any del Toro movie done really that well at boxoffice? Blade II? Pan?

I really think that James Camerons aleady overhyped Sci-Fi pic, AVATAR is gonna be a major flop.
How? It's using technology that will change cinema! Even Speilberg and Lucas are saying that. At least wait until we see a preview first.

Great technology = a great movie? Come one, be serious. See it's already been hyped up, and correct me if i'm wrong but Spiderman 1, used technology that had never been used before, and i don't consider that a GREAT movie.

Hellboy 2
Indy
Wanted..i hope it does good though
Hulk
Wolverine..also hope it does good

We're not saying that we don't like orginality. We're saying that the general public doesn't.

How come Hellboy got a sequel? Does anybody know the reason why?

I always assumed Hellboy did as well as say...Constatine... and that Keaunu Reeves movie is NOT getting a sequel. What made Hellboy get one? I just always figured it did ho-hum business...

either way, I'm glad there's a sequel.

I don't think he said great technology means a great movie but whatever.
Anyhow people did like the first Spider-man, was it oscar material?...no way but it satisfied what most people look for when they go see a big summer blockbuster. Plus thats not such a good example because the movie was the first ever to open with 100+ million over a weekend and it part of the very exclusive 400 million club so yeah...its pretty far from a flop.

Avatar is getting mega hype (via internet...surprisingly most movie goers haven't even heard of this one yet)so I'm expecting to see something amazing and I hope Cameron doesn't disappoint. Clearly though it seems as if they worked really hard on the story...thats the impression I got from the news tibits, so I'm expecting a good fun movie

I love James Cameron and all but I almost want that film to flop just to teach him a lesson. No movie...No Movie should ever take this long to make.

It's beyond ridiculous and I have a feeling it won't look/be as good as people will be expecting it to be since he took who knows how many years to make a single film.

streetfighter
speed racer
and possibly DragonBall

Yeah, but even if it is a bad movie, everyone want's to see it because of the new 3D technology!

What's with all the Will Smith hate lately...

Book it - Hancock is gonna be a hit at the box office!
I love Will Smith he's awesome. Can't wait for Hancock.
No one else thinks Iron Man may flop?
No it's getting ton of positive reviews & will probably be this Marvel's for this year X-Men or Spider-Man.

Did TDK get the most watched trailer of all time? No Indy did, so TDK will probably move down to 2 or (if IM does reeeally well) 3. Though it does look awesome. My Indy fanboyism is getting over me.

Wanted (nobody cared for Mr. and Mrs.Smith)
Hancock (stupid title that will confuse the audience)
Speed Racer (has crap written all over it)

Street Fighter for sure. I hope it flops for just for that horrible casting.

Really, any of the big budget movies coming out this year have the potential to disappoint. They're either going to sate the audience's appetite or let a lot of people down after so much hype.

There's really not much of a middle road with these situations.

I love your sig. :word:

The incredible Hulk will flop. It looks like another lame Hulk movie.

I can't say that it will flop, but I'm not interested in it at all. In fact, Hulk himself looks too scary and cartoony, IMO. I hope it does well, though, especially for its fans.

Has anyone seen the Dragonball pics? I'm too lazy to post em, but my God that movie looks like they just filmed cosplayers at a con. If I were a fan of Dragonball at all I'd be pissed. I like Streetfighter, but at least that one has budget enough so that it won't look as bad as Dragonball. Unfortunately, Legend of Chun Li will still most likely be pretty bad, say in the way the Silent Hill movie was bad, and the Dragonball movie will be bad the way the first SF film with Jean-Claude was.
