Awesome trailer (from what I can make out), I was actually moving my head with the camera to try and get a better peek at the thing. :funny:

Didn't see any actual Thing's though. Which I don't mind, I'd rather wait until the HD teaser.

I saw a tentacle doing something in there lol.

I wonder if they will re-incorporate the scene in The Thing they never shot, where they were out on snowmobiles, and the Thing pulled them under the ice. I can't remember exactly how the scene went, but I remember reading it in the novelization, and I think some one said there are story boards of it. I should check my copy of it.

I want to get 1982 The Thing on blu, but I'm thinking with this movie coming out they will have some deluxe edition released.

I never knew that about the thing attacking them from beneath, but that sounds AWESOME.

I won't get my expectations high but the trailer looks good.

I SO want to know what "The Thing" looks like inside of that block of ice. I wonder if its just another alien it infected that flew the UFO or could it be a actual Thing that never assimilated with another organism.

If you want to see it, go watch the original?

The block of Ice was already empty in the original when MaCready and Doctor Copper investigated the camp. The only "things" that were at the base was the burnt remains out in the snow. Then of course there was the dog made it to Outpost 31, that was chased by the helicopter.

Wow, awesome trailer! Also, I loce the fact that they kept the score at the end. Can't wait for this. It's also good to know that they are trying to go for practical effects more so than CGI.

Kinda hard to make out, but it seems cool. I want to see in HD though.

Yea I'm hoping for good as well. I really am interested about the score. They better use the main theme in an (updated) way.

I can't imagine them not, Solidus. It's so synonymous with the creature itself. What I do expect... is probably a slower, reworking of the theme.

Half decent trailer, nothing structually different than others. From the monsters I was able to make out, the designs seem pretty uninspired. I'm sure we all know deep down that this is going to be forgettable, but I'm still somewhat cautiously optimistic.

How could you make any of that stuff out? I just saw somthing wiggle.

Reminiscent of AVP's theatrical trailer.

hintity hint hint.

I have really good eyes and clicking reflexes.:ninja:

Eh, I think for a trailer they are not going to show much of the creature. And uninspired.....I just don't know how we got that out of such a poor quality trailer. I'm sure they won't show the disgusting R rated stuff in the trailers.

Was that Deeks from NCIS LA I saw at the beginning of the trailer?

I'm definitely going out on a limb, but from the quick snippets, the ones shown all look like normal human beings with CGI tentacles. Of course, this is just a teaser trailer with one or two quick shots, but that internet fanboy in me wants to break out.:csad:

Yea that's him.

God, I ****ing hate that guy. Just the way he looks...

I heard there is very little CGI in this film. I thought most was practical.

It is. Matthijs (the director) even said it's mostly practical effects during NYCC.

THE THING prequel director: "There are a LOT of practical effects in this movie. I owed it to Carpenter not to CGI it up."
