Pride and Predator Together on the Big Screen?

Source: Variety
February 17, 2009

Will Clark is set to direct Pride and Predator, which veers from the traditional period costume drama when an alien crash lands and begins to butcher the mannered protagonists, who suddenly have more than marriage and inheritance to worry about.

Shooting will begin in London later this year. Elton John executive produces, and his Rocket Pictures partners Steve Hamilton Shaw and David Furnish are producing.

Clark, who directed award-winning short The Amazing Trousers, wrote the script with Andrew Kemble and John Pape.

"It felt like a fresh and funny way to blow apart the done-to-death Jane Austen genre by literally dropping this alien into the middle of a costume drama, where he stalks and slashes to horrific effect," Furnish said.

Surely, it's not that Predator. I want to see Yautja in Shakespearean plays.

"Thou art one ugly mother****er!" :woot:

Pride and ... Predator?

:applaud:lmao::applaud:lmao::applaud:lmao:

This man is a genius!!!
Jane Austen must be spinning on her grave!!!
Can't wait for the inevitable parasol fight....

Actually yeah....
Get out of your stuffy and pompous TDK clothes and get into light and fun Pride and Predator casuals. It needs a good script and sincere acting (Airplane! or Monty Python) to be respected as a genuinely funny and enjoyable film...
People today are too scared to laugh...

As it there are a lack of fun movies nowadays and Seltzer & Friedburg have soured everyone's taste for a good spoof/comedy film.

The name sucks, but I don't know if this is serious or could be a comedy.

It reminds of the great Monthy Python's "Sam Peckinpah" TV skit.

It's not THAT predator, so I'll have to pass on this. The premis sounds interesting and it's originalish..but it sounds like it's coming from a 1995 direct to video feature you see advirtised in your video rental Coming Soon sheet.

I wouldn't mind however if they made an actual Predator sequal that took place back in time (any centrery would do). I'd watch that, but not really this.

This idea sounds completely lame. We can't just get a normal Predator movie set in a historic period?

What's with this new trend in Pride and Predjudice spoof? This movie, Pride and Predjudice and Zombies, what's next?

I can't believe people are bashing this idea, its absolutely brilliant.

If they used the actual Predator it could be really funny.

It certainly would be better than AVP.

I'd say that if it was actually the PREDATOR we know and not some made-up rip-off alien type creature, this film would be appealing and worth watching to see how it played out, but since it is NOT the PREDATOR...it's just some film that I have no interest in seeing (or to put it this way, I would NEVER pay to see this film).

I think saying this statement before seeing a trailer, or a picture or...well...anything from this movie is a bit illogical.

Maybe, though I honestly do feel the same way.

Thats what I want to know. Is it that Predator? I cant see a movie that crosses Predator with Elton John. How the hell does that work?
