Prison Break Season 4 Discussion

'Prison' break may be on the way
Speculation surrounds two additional episodes

The end could be near for "Prison Break."

The actors on the Fox drama have been notified by 20th TV that the filming schedule might be extended to accommodate production of two additional episodes.

"Prison" writers are yet to pitch ideas about the extra hours, but speculation is that they might serve as a conclusion to the four-year series.

If the two episodes are made, their fate is unclear as the network has not committed yet to air them, though conversations with the studio are under way.

Fox might run the bonus material as two additional episodes in the spring, though that is considered unlikely because "Prison" has struggled in the ratings this fall and the remaining six episodes of its original 22-show order weren't on the network's recently released midseason schedule.

A more plausible scenario has Fox airing the two episodes as a two-hour "event" next season, not unlike the "24" prequel this fall. Or the episodes might end up on the "Prison Break" DVD.

I feel bad for this series. Putting it up against Heroes was a profoundly stupid move that definitely hurt its ratings. Those are the only two network shows that I make an effort to watch every week, and now I have to choose one or the other. Out of the two, I'd definitely say that PB is the better one these days.

Hmm never understood this because one is on at 8 and the other is on at 9 no need to choose. (perhaps its because I live in Canada)

Both shows are hurting in the ratings, Heroes might not live to see another season due to the high production costs and shrinking ratings. PB has seen drops each season but they never had such a huge audience like Heroes, who have lost half of their first season audience. It will be interesting to see how 24 does on Mondays when it returns. Heroes, Two and a Half Men and 24 would crowd for the top spot. Heroes eventually bumped 24 into 3rd and things looked bleak for 24 and great for Heroes in May 2007.

In the US their on at the same time which doesn't bother me because Heroes has been such a disappointment to me the last two seasons that I've stopped watching it.

In Canada we have two main networks that pick up American shows (and then there are a handful of specialty cable channels that also air American shows as well as Canadian content) so Prison Break and Heroes air on Global. They are starting to do it more often but I dislike the Canadian feed because they don't always air the previews for next week's episode.

Right! Watched it, was pretty cool. cant wait to see what happens next, but it begs the question what happens after the break. we are only on ep 11 with another 11 to go, where can the story go to now?

good question...but since self has been captured and scofield and crew are face to face with the company...skys the limit!
very excited!

Wow last night's episode made me want to post in this thread. Something is up. No way he's going to get caught like that.

P.S. What's up with the gas canister?

Liquid nitrogen, so they could control the temperature in the room. Otherwise, it would have triggered the heat sensors. Mind you, it's all irrelevant, as Michael and the gang were stupid enough to believe that there wasn't some kind of security measure on Scylla itself!!! Meanwhile, Michael still needs to get his butt to the doctor to have his surgery!

And I'd just like to add, Jodi Lynn O'keefe in the schoolgirl outfit? I'd be all over that like a Peter North money shot, lemme tell ya!! :woot:

You're missing Michael's utter genius that even the previews foreshadowed.

They couldn't get the 6th card outright, so they have the General take it to them...

The reason Michael decided to trigger only the last alarm, is because if he triggered any of the earlier ones, and the Company got to them, they might be able to hold of the Company men, but there will still be a wall between them and Scylla.

Dude's awesome.

Carnut is right. Michael is bad ass. Just watched this episode on Hulu, can't wait for next week.

A few interesting things this week...first Mahone jumping in and taking over the planning combined with his talk with Michael were both really good Mahone moments. Fitchner needs an Emmy.

Furthermore, this episode confirmed that Gretchen's daughter is also the General's. I have a feeling that the little girl is going to get used at some point.

Though I do have to ask, why the hell would Self and the secretary go in with no back up? They know how dangerous T-Bag and Gretchen are. Why not bring a SWAT team or something?

Curiously, next weeks episode is titled, "Selfless." The obvious implication is that someone will do something noble, sacrifice themself, or something along those lines. I'm thinking, however, that Fang is going to kill Self, meaning the crew will have Scyllia, but no Agent Self to do anything with it, making them convicts on the run from the Company and the law, while holding onto Scyllia.

Really really! good point

whats wrong with you dudes...No posts on that crazy episode last night? Althought it wasn't that much of a suprise ending, but it was pretty cool IMO. Now the guys have a status quo changer for the rest of the season

I had a feeling from the get go Self might turn, but it just seemed to obvious that the writers wouldn't do it. They did though and that's what surprised me. This little twist is pushing me towards the 'Michael will die' ending of PB. :(

On the run...again.................................

Sucks that the secretary was killed, she was very nice to look at. This really needs to be the final season, the twists are just getting out of hand and really show how much they're stretching the premise out to fill a season. The show would've been better on a cable network having 13 episode seasons.

I'm not crazy about this twist, but Rappaport seems like he is going to make a great villain next week ("You're smart, but I'm just a little bit smarter." Great delivery), so I'll give him a chance.

Also, I loved the showdown between the brothers and the General. "I bet you wish you framed a different guy, now." Bad ass scene.
