Problem with HP Scanner

I have a PSC 1401 All-in-One Printer. I am currently doing a project for school in which I am drawing a logo for our school newspaper. I tried to scan my picture to color it but the stupid thing won't let me scan it to other programs. So i was wondering, I am stuck with a suck scanner or am I missing something. All help is appreciated.

When you scan it, does it allow you to see it on your screen? What file extension are you trying to save it as?

Do a print screen and paste it in paint if all else fails.

I have several HP scanners in my office, particularly multipurpose printers which gives me quite a headache.

If you have HP Toolbox, you can configure which software to use for your editing purpose. You might need to refer to your manual because each model varies.
