Well I'm very dissappointed that this forum doesn't have a thread about this game yet... :o

Project Origin, for those of you who do not know already, is the sequel to the terrific and horrifying FPS game F.E.A.R. This game looks like a *huge* improvement over the first. I seriously haven't found one thing I do not like about this game. The release date is still unknown but is estimated before halloween, but that could change. The game promises more variety, which they said was their key theme to this game besides the action of a FPS and a horror game. This game allows you to control mech suits that you could only fight in the first game, and look fun to pilot. The weapons looks sweet and have more sci-fi elements implemented to them, for example the laser-like weapon seen in the hospital demo released a while ago. I suggest that anyone who does not know about this game yet hit up IGN or 1UP and check this game out pronto. I let you guys know if anything new comes out in the next couple of days. Discuss.

Thanks for starting this thread. This is my most anticipated game of this year.

I recently played through FEAR again. I had forgotten how fun that game was.

Totally agree with you on that one man. And your welcome.:yay: I know, I play through FEAR every now and then. It's such a fun game. I always hate the last ending level though, when the ghosts appear everywhere and your in the dark/ sewers. It still freaks me out!:shock

Yeah me too cause i always forget which direction they will come from. There is something i'm a bit confused on though. The news for Project Origin states that the explosion that destroyed Auburn was as a result of Alma's psychic blast. Yet in FEAR, you, the Point Man, are the one to initiate the explosion by shutting down/destroying the facilities reactor. Do you know what thats about?

Well I do know that this game takes place about 20 mins before the end of the game, so this time you get to see the exploision from a different point of view. But that is quite an amazing question. Because your right, the point man is the one who sabotages the facility and detonates it. But the story of P.O. says it's Alma who unleashes this... Very strange... I'll try to find this out.

The game looks graphically unimpressive.
And explain. This game looks amazing IMO, and has everything fixed from the last FEAR. It has its own unique look and detail. I love the graphics, one of the aspects of this game I'm excited about, and so that's why I about why you think they're "unimpressive."

This is a 4 year old game, not seeing much of a leap here.

You don't think any of this stuff is new or better? This link shows everything they've enhanced and fixed.

The game does look slightly better but it seems the character models only seem the be the big noticeable difference. If this was an expansion or something it wouldn't be a problem, it's a full game though.

Take Stalker, this is a game engine from way back in 2001, the game was delayed for years, this thing practically has grey hairs, looks what they done to it in about 6 month for Clear Sky.

I still believe P.O. is amazing and has made major progress. After seeing the first demo of it I felt it wasn't that great but they've really improved alot of things, blood, textures, character models, the variety. So I guess we'll agree to disagree. :)

Yeah i think the game looks pretty good. What made me love FEAR though was the enemy AI and great atmosphere. IF P.O. can replicate that, i'll be a happy gamer.

I hear ya! :) Oh and BTW it is indeed the point man who sets off the explosion inside the facility and wrecks the city.

Smart move I'd say though. Too much coming out end of this year.

Damn! Its been delayed until the first quarter of next year.
:cmad::cmad::waa: I'm mad and upset... oh well. I really can't do anything about this but at least they will make everything more perfect as in the IGN they said they wanted. I still can't believe there isn't even a date for it in Q1 2009.

Yeah it hate the vague Q1, Q2 etc stuff. Oh well. I'm gonna pick up Spider-Man Web of Shadows in place of Project Origin come October.

Yeah he just popped in to say that. I'll never get that logic.

So if i understand correctly, Project Origin will ignore the expansion pack stories. Am i right?
