[FONT=Arial,Helvetica]PlayStation 3 Built-to-Order
Kutaragi really wants you to know the PS3 is a computer. Plus, 120GB hard drives?

June 16, 2006 - PlayStation head-honcho Ken Kutaragi
has been making a concerted effort lately to let people know the
PlayStation 3 is intended to be a computer and not just a game system.
Adding further leverage to this argument are comments Kutaragi made
recently in an interview with Japanese newspaper Nikkei BP.
According to GamerNode, Kutaragi hinted at the PlayStation 3 being offered on a built-to-order basis, as many PCs are.
Kutaragi says, "A PS3 just for you! "As
the PlayStation 3 is a computer, we might even offer it on a
built-to-order basis, customized to the needs of each and every user,"
Kutaragi is quoted as saying. "The hardware components have been
designed in a modularized format with this possibility in mind."
When the PS3 launches this November, it will be available with a 20GB
hard drive for $499 or a 60GB hard drive for $599. As an example of
built-to-order possibilities, Kutaragi indicated that larger 120GB hard
drives could be available as early as next year.
Oh Kutaragi, you crazy foo'.
