PS3 newbie

Yea I've had a 360 for like ever and my wife and I just grabbed a 160gig slim for Blue-Ray use along with the games not on the 360.

Is there anything I should know about this system?

Yep. It's awesome. And you should buy Uncharted 2. It's one of the greatest games out there and is exclusive to the PS3.

FYI get the official sony PS3 bluetooth remote it works very well and I have only had the batteries changed in it once since 2008! I use it for the blu/dvd playing netflix and accessing any media you have on it or are streaming to it.

You'll love the PS3. I was a 360 guy back in 05-06 but once I got a PS3 I never went back.

Welcome to the darkside. Someone mentioned Uncharted--I highly recommend that series, along with God of War and if you're into racing games, Motorstorm series. There's a bunch of other exclusives such as Little Big Planet and MLB The Show (probably the best baseball game out there.)

Besides using the PS3 for blu-ray and gaming, I also use it as my main device in my media center. It's the hub. I stream videos, music and movies from my PC thru my PS3 to the big screen TV in my house. It's great.

If you like Batman get Arkham Asylum and Arkham City both are great games.

I'd agree with everyone else in saying Uncharted. That series is THE reason to get a PS3 (heck, with the Vita out, its the reason to get a Vita too).

Outside of that, I'd say LittleBigPlanet is a must, especially if you want a fun coop game to play with your wife. Another game that doesn't get enough publicity due to its age is Braid. It really is one heck of a game.

Also check out Deus Ex: Human Revolution. It really is a tremendous game that does honor to the first Deus Ex game. Due to its open nature, it allows you to play it in many different ways (stealth, full on guns blazing, etc....).

- inFamous 1 and 2 are both fantastic games.
- Killzone 3 released its multiplayer as a separate PSN download game, which is a great way to get your shooter fix on the cheap.
- Journey is a fun experience, but it's fairly short.
- Portal 2 on the PS3 can link up with Steam, so your wife could play on the PS3 and you could play on the PC and do the co-op stuff together.

Also, Amazon Prime Instant Video just got added to the PS3, so if you're a Prime member you can watch free stuff and rent/buy movies through there!

Your wife would probably enjoy watching you play Heavy Rain. She can help you out in picking your choices and decisions in the game.






Kilzone 3 is also a good game.
