I assumed you've been around long enough to know that "people" as a collective is different from individuals.

Most people go for the Playstation brand name. The sales alone should be enough to prove that (PS2 is the no. 1 console of all time).

Sales or not people buy systems for different reasons & one person should not speak for all of those people. I know I would vertainly not like someone that I do not know speaking what I think for me & yes I think price does play a factor

Some could buy the PS2 to be able to play PS1 games
Some could buy the PS2 to have a cheap DVD Player

etc

I agree. Not by a long shot. But they were once considered to be the unstoppable King of the Video Game Empire and outsold everyone else easily. Video games used to be called "Nintendos". Now, it's "Playstation". Who's to say how long that'll last??

Sure, let me spell it out for you.

To say that Sony has nothing to worry about with their next system just because their previous ones were popular and considered to be THE system of choice to the general public is dangerous. There were previous times when the same could have and were thought about Sega, Nintendo, and Atari, but look what happened. They all got too comfortable and, in doing so, lost their seats in the throne.

Name brand goes a long way, as long as you continue to at least keep your customers at least satisfied. But the moment you start thinking that you can crap all over your customers and charge them whatever you like for your products, that name recognition will do you no good. And from the looks of it, Sony's doing exactly that.

OH MY GOD! I knew not to believe these stupid rumors, Playstation 3 games are not going to cost 75-80 like most said. They mis understood, Kutaragi said he would never have the games cost that much and people thought he was saying thats how much they would cost.

They are going to cost 59.99 like most games, still no word on a price drop but hey maybe they'll change their minds?
