This is starting to appear to be a regular thing, the Playstation 3 has outsold the Wii for a third week now:

Nintendo DS Lite: about 116,000
Playstation Portable: about 89,000
Playstation 3 : about 58,000
Wii: about 47,000
Playstation 2: about 15,000
Xbox 360: about 5,800

I don't think that the trend ill continue, seeing as the PS3 had Winning Eleven to boost it a little bit, but the PS3 should be competitive to the Wii here on out, which is great news for Sony.

God he's a ****ing idiot. If I put eight items up for sale every month, but twenty people tried to buy the item every month, I wouldn't meet demand. It's not like I can't ramp up production, I just wanna **** with my customers. That's total bull****. The Bush administration is trying to get out of Iraq more than Nintendo is trying to boost production.

 

The PS3 beat the Wii for teh entire month of November in Japan

TOKYO (Reuters) - Sony Corp's (6758.T) PlayStation 3 outsold Nintendo Co Ltd's (7974.OS) Wii game console in Japan in November for the first time since the machines were launched late last year, a game magazine publisher said. Nintendo sold 159,193 units of the Wii in the four weeks to November 25, trailing sales of 183,217 units of the PS3, Enterbrain said on Friday.

Good for Sony, it's about time the PS3 started making some waves.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it's the fall of the Wii though. Plus I wouldn't say that the Wii is so much a fad any longer, I think it's past that stage.

I like and play on a regular basis my PS3 and Wii, I don't see what peoples problems are, they are both great systems, and if you skip out on one of them because of some silly reason, then you are missing out on some great games.

 

and unfortunetly like the GC, its only big titles are the ones Nintendo actually makes. Its 3rd party support is weak compared to the 360 and PS3

 

It doesn't help they made no effort to raise the technology for the system. Every port is basically like making one for the PS2. Exactly how does the Wii measure up to the Gamecube technologically?
