So none of my games will play sound indside the game, when they show up on the Xcross Media bar I get the music when i Highlight games but in the actual game I get NO SOUND, I have a HDMI hook up and I was just watching a DVD on it fine the other night and a Blu-Ray the night before and i was just curious if we had any Tech Gurus that could help me out.

They just released a FW, so maybe that changed your settings? I would go back to the System Settings and double check the HDMI Audio Out is still selected.

Called Sony and they said it was prolly a burnt out HDMI port so im pissed that it will be a $!70 repaire since i have an A model. we can close this now.

My PlayStation 3 just got water damaged from my ceiling. So pissed right now.

Awww man, that does suck. Mine atleast still plays Blu-rays through HDMI.

Figure I'll just ask this in here. Anyone ever have problems with their PS3 when they plug in composite cables? My sister's system isn't working so she gave it to me to check out. It shows up on the TV when I plug my HDMI cable in, but doesn't work anymore with the composite. I told her she might just need new composite cables.

Just wondering if anyone has had this issue before.

When you switch connections like that, you need to start with the system off and then hold the power button down for a few seconds until it beeps twice. This is a soft reboot and configures it from HDMI to composite and vice versa. You will not get a picture otherwise.
