Yup. In the scientific community, inventors often name their inventions after themselves. For Hank to have named his invention (or discovery, more accurately?) "Pym particles" fits quite nicely.

The Higgs Boson comes to mind, although I don't think that Peter Higgs named it himself. If Pym ends up as a senior scientist of the same, or greater, reputation and 'celebrity' as Higgs, I think that could work well.
