Young Hank Pym Casting

We lucked out when Michael Douglas was cast. but, not yet decided, is who will portray Pym in the past. who will be the guy self-experimenting with pym particles and winding up in an ant-hill? what's your preference? i included a few candidates, below; their age in parentheses.

Michael Douglas was 16-26 during the sixties. We will probably see Pym as a twenty something Ant-Man in the prologue so an actor is in their twenties or can pass for looking in their twenties is probably who they could be looking at.

Dean O'Gorman or Jamie Bell would be good picks.

It really depends what a happens in the prologue. If the sixties prologue is just action scenes then they can hire a stunt man/look a like but if it requires some dramatic acting then they will probably get an actor.

....type in mind, but, admittedly those are more based on looks, an I don't know enough about there acting to say they could really bring something to the role acting wise, so they would be more stunt casting (for lack of better word)

Of the choices in the OP, Jamie Bell is the only one to go with (unless there will be more suggestions that work).

So Douglas plays a 70 year old and was almost thirty in the late 60s... pretty simple.

This is the superhero genre, you can suspend your disbelief that he can shrink and grow on a whim but you can't accept michael b jordan as a young michael douglas? all that matters is that hes a good actor, geez

I think Jamie Bell is off the table with him being (reportedly?) cast as The Thing. But yea, young 20 year old white dudes with acting ability aren't exactly in short supply in Hollywood.

I'm still hoping all the news from Fox on the FF reboot is some sort of posturing in hopes the house of mouse caves in and makes an offer...

Anyways I'm really curious as to who they could get, Marvel Studios is consistently amazing with their casting, even for parts that aren't being reused. Just look at how they ended up using Tommy Lee Jones!

A young Pym should definitely be 40 or under. I use 40 as a startoff point because Hollywood men can still look like 20 at the beginning of their 40s, that said 3 of the OP choices are pushing it.

anyways, I hope they cast someone to play Maria Trovayna, as well. I want to see that scene from the comic where Pym kind of loses it after she's kidnapped.
