Pyro' Real Power Untapped?

Pyro is one of my favourite characters in the comics. I love how he makes dragons and all kinds of crazy things out of fire. I was hoping Movie Pyro would do that too.

But i dont think Sunfire or the Human torch can manipulate fire though. They can only generate fire and control to fire they generate, but they cannot control or manipulate fire that they did not generate. Like how Hydro-man can only manipulate the water that is part of him (that has recently chaged though)

Well, Sunfire is able to turn the plasma state of ionize matter into nuclear-charged solar fire, not to mention he can create thermal updrafts for flight, along with infared vision and is immune to radiation. But I disgress, I don't want to get off-topic. ;)

The thing is, Pyro can manipulate fire, which is cool, but by no means formidable. All you have to do is take away he's lighter, and he's neutralized. He's by no means the same threat or strength as to Magneto.

he has them attached to his body/hands now. he doesnt need any stinkin lighters. wow i just cant stop thinking of Avalanche and Pyro causing mayhem in the city!

Actually the same applies to Magneto. Put him into a non metal enviroment and he's screwed. But the thing is, in todays world there's just metal everywhere.

^^ i dont think they ever had a friendship i think they were just around each other. i dont think it was anything serious.

i loved his role in x3 he was a badass, i mean

"I would kill the professor if you let me"

wow i got chills down my spine when he said that, HES SO EVIL!

i think he has some issues man, did u see his face in X2 when he was flaming the cops, it was priceless, man it was great. he didnt give a Sh**
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!Pyro wouldnt have a chance in hell against the professor

Even though I hate the Level system that got introduced in the Movie, I don't think there's such a high difference in power between Magneto and Pyro. At least that's what I like to think.

Both are manipulation types, Magneto can control metal, and Pyro fire, also he can shape it into any form he desires. And without either of those elements both are pretty much useless. I think, if Pyro wanted, he could drown entire cities in a river of fire, even though he has never displayed such an act of raw power. But logically, for someone that can control fire, I think it's not out of the possibility.

Noooo ;) I disagree, the misconception here is the idea Magneto can simply control metal. Magneto power's involves the ability to mentally manipulate all forms of magnetic and electromagnetic fields. That's in a completely different level than being able to manipulate an element like fire.

Precisly my point, to neutrilize magneto, you have to go through so much more caution. You'd need to build an entire plastic prison. Magnetokinesis is one of the universes most formidable aspects. A mutant having the ability to control that, I don't see how you can rank Pyro and Magneto on the same scale.

You could take away his lighter, it doesnt matter as long as there is a flame near by him thats all he needs. One little flame turns into a sea of fire. But if you take away his ingiters and there is not ONE little flame of fire around then he would be screwed

pyro was awesome in both movies...more so in X3 just cause you got to see him a lot more and the fact that he was placed on the "evil" side...which is his rightful place in comics so...to aaron Stanford...job well done...again. Even if the iceman pyro fight was short...everyone was waiting for it...and aarons intensity throughout the entire film was felt...he really was stealing the show from the rest of the villains...quill, psylocke and arclight didn't have many lines and were forgettable...Calisto...whetever....mystique...she did her thing 2 movies before...we know she's badass...Juggs was cool, but only muscle and comic relief (atleast ithink he was supposed to be funny)...pyro was the one villain next to magneto that you took seriously...although...I have to ask what did magneto have him and multiple man do while the Jean Grey at her house scene was goin on...were they setting up tents?

He said he would have killed Xavier in the same vein as someone would say "I could have taken him"... like that, he's trying to elevate himself in the others eyes...

I wonder if this means that Iceman is a Class 4 mutant as well...

Iceman is an Omega class mutant, he canbe as powerful as ****, but he doesn't take anything seriously. the iceman in the flick was a wuss. :confused:

class 5 - jean
class 4 - proff x/magneto
class 3 - storm/ice man/pyro
wrong iceman is a class 5 or omega class, another person who should be really powerful is Johnny Storm, but like iceman he is very unserious.

He lacked the depth he had in the second movie, I thought, and he was better played in that one too. Stanford seemed to be coasting through with a nothing role in this plot, and even dissapears mysteriously in a scene. That's strange considering how his fall to the dark side made him so interesting. He's just another bland goon now like the omega gang or whatever they are. If he wasn't more than that in x2, I'd think it was alright though.

I wonder if he would have made a fire bird to fight jean at jean's house but instead jean took it and blasted pyro back with it... lol that'd have been fun to watch. Maybe in the sequel...

Maybe if Pyro was truly unleashed he could blow up the whole world?

lol maybe if they drop Juggernaut from a plane he can use his head to get to the earths core, and Pyro can control that:eek:

Hadn't considered that... true...

Then he could manipulate fire to his heart's content... no lighten required.

For starters what does "burning" or "fire" mean? Think about it. If Pyro has the potential to manipulate any molecular process where a substance combines with oxygen, he might draw forth fire from within the cells of any oxygen-breathing animal.

I want to see a pyro vs Johnny storm fight.

Is there a comic about that?

Hmmm, that was pretty interesting about the Level 4 thing. Pyro on par with Mags, eh?

Of course, the movie folks could have just pulled that stat out of their @sses to make the pair of them sound cooler.

IMO the REAL untapped part of Pyro was his personality (this time around) - we got so many great hints in X2: him eying pictures of Bobby's family with envy or resentment of some sort, his temptation to join Mags...

...and then it just fizzled out. He's suddenly a goon.

I did like the expression on his face when Mags shrugged off Mystique however: he looked genuinely freaked out there - like maybe Mags wasn't the type of person you'd want to count on for a friend.

I have mixed feelings about the Xavier comment. I like to think that Pyro just wasn't thinking there: just trying to prop himself up in Magneto eyes (after that Mystique incident, I sure would).

Pyro did look shocked about what mags said about Mystique..and i agree what he said about professer x kinda freaked me out, Pyro wouldn't go that far. That seemed a bit to much

Look how he acted in X2 at Bobby's house, I dont think he was out of character at all. I think that if Magneto got a hold of Pyro before Pyro went the the X-School, Pyro would've choosen Magneto from the very beginning. The only reason Pyro was at the school was cause he had nowhere else to go. Eversince X2 you could see how Pyro disliked Humans very much. Which would be logical for him to also dislike/hate mutants who had sympathy for humans.

I agree with this. I always loved the shot of Pyro looking at the picture of Bobby and his family. He looked really sad, and you know from that second that his own family must have disowned him when they found out what he was.
There's his reasoning. He hates humans due to the fact that he was abandoned by the only people in the world you ought to be able to trust. He wants revenge, he knows he has great power and is restrained by Xavier. Magneto sets him free and yes, feeds his ego.
