The artist draws hands really sloppily, and I'd convinced myself that he had only three fingers and a thumb on one hand, but I wanted to see his hand on another page to confirm it. I hope he stays back. Wendell's been one of my faves for a while now. I even loved the bit where he tried to keep his secret identity by wearing glasses, and nobody bought it

Want to hear something sad/funny? In my anal-retentive stupidity, I actually flipped through Nova #17 after Robert appeared to see if the artist remembered he's supposed to be missing a finger on one hand from something that happened back in the New Warriors series, and I wound up inadvertently spoiling the ending for myself. Still, the mere fact that Wendell's back was awesome enough to overcome that minor inconvenience. I still loved it.

Yeah, I did the exact same thing. Stupid New Warriors arc.

And it's my hope that Wendell joins the Nova Corps (since its restarting soon due to solicits). I never cared about him before, but it's one of those didn't care until he died kind of things, and now I hope he sticks around.

I think I'd like Wendell to remain a private protector. He could take over the Silver Surfer's role as cosmic wanderer now that the Surfer's busy condemning planets to doom again.
