Quasar will NOT perish, he will be something greater, most likely. But the powers that be are tighter than clap telling anything. Moondragon and Gamora will be involved, too. Slight Kismet sighting, I hear. All these are cosmic characters with 'revamps' and new costumes. There is radical stuff in store for Quasar where he will change OVER A PERIOD OF TIME. Enjoy the reading. :)

I always suspected
Ned Leeds
secretly craved Quasar's power. That devious bastard.

Regarding the event itself: Annihilus is supposed to be using the quantum bands for himself now. That leaves me with one question: what the ****? Weren't the quantum bands supposed to blow anyone other than the designated protector of the universe the **** up?
Nope. Anyone can wear 'em.

Good to hear the news that Quaz will probably return in some form.

I'm fairly certain it was established that anyone other than their designated wielder could wear them but would eventually get blown up if they tried to use their power.

Yeah, that was pretty firmly established early on in the Quasar series. But it had more to do with how you used them and less to do with who could wear them. You have to have a flexibility of will and not so much of a killer instinct to wear them.

SHIELD had the bands after Marvel Boy (the original) killed himself by forcing the energy rather than letting it flow. The same thing happened to the first SHIELD agent to test the bands. Wendell was the first to actually understand the bands and master them.

I can't imagine the Annihilus lacks a killer instinct so if he tries to wear the bands he should blow up real good.

Right, and Wendell figured the bands out because he's a natural protector rather than an aggressor. I knew it was something like that.

Still, Annihilus should totally get blowed up. I wonder if we'll get an explanation for that. I'm kind of hoping for one, since the writers have all been doing a great job of keeping continuity strong with the Annhiliation stuff so far, but at the same time it's still Marvel, land of the retcon, so I don't want to get my hopes up.

Exactly. There is no real 'chosen one' for the bands, but only someone who understands the bands can actually use them and not get blown up.

Well, that really depends on how you define it. You could say that Wendell is the "chosen one" because he was the only one capable of using it without blowing himself up and the one that Eon choose to help teach.

Since the only other people we've seen use them have killed themselves, I think you could easily make the argument that Quasar is the chosen one.

Yeah. The only reason Wendell didn't self destruct was because he could let things go and just relax. Where Annihilus obviously can't. I hope the bands are his downfall. Revenge for Quasar from beyond the grave.

That would be pretty goddamn sweet, actually. Annihilus whips out the quantum bands when the United Front finally catches up with him and then gets blown to hell for trying to use the bands' power too aggressively.

Given the little hints we've seen so far, though, I think it's far likelier that Thanos will betray Annihilus and reveal himself to be the true villain behind all of this stuff. Because it just isn't a Marvel cosmic story without Thanos being behind it all.

Either that or he saves the universe. Wouldn't that beat all.

He's done both already. I'm so bored of Thanos.

Blasphemer.

THANOS IS OUR MIGHTY SPACE GOD!

AND STARLIN IS HIS PROPHET!

Then brand me a heathen because I can't stand the bastard.

hey,.. I'm happy,.. Squirrel Girl waxed his Purple scaly behind. :)

I refuse to aknowledge that defeat as canon :(

As for Quasar, I was pretty damn pissed he died but I can't wait for his return. I always meant to get more into cosmic characters(Quasar and Cpt.Marvel being the 2 I'm most interested in).

I swear hes coming back, but dont expect it to be Wendell, its someone you already seen in Annihilation.
