Its weird because im a big fan of Tarentino but for some reason I can never get into being excited for a new film. I just wait till I happen to fall into watching it.

Pop
... it's funny when plots and trailers are so straightforward revealing what they are, some people just need to imagine well it can't be just that, there has to be something more!

I'm not saying I need a trailer to spell out and outline the whole film but, I dunno, with this trailer I really couldn't get a handle on what exactly the story is here. It wasn't until Marvolo told me "Its about 8 people stuck in a bar together and one is not who it seems" where it clicked and now the trailers make more sense to me.
Except the exact setup and line is IN the trailers. Where do you think it came from?

You missed it somehow.

Tarantino knows he doesn't need a solid trailer to get his film seen. He lets his name and the critcal reception do it for him. None of his films's trailers make me excited or has me rewatching them. But his films turn out to be 3 out of 4 star films at worst.

It's kinda like Will Smith or Tom Cruise of time past. You watched a film simply because they starred in it.

There are a handful of directors who can get a nice opening weekend just by advertising their name.

Nolan, Tarantino, and Cameron are the ones who immediately come to mind.

Tarantino's movies don't lend themselves well to trailers. He is the anti-Zack Snyder in this way.

Tarantino did this whole cop thing to get attention so people can go watch his new movie. Now, there's a conspiracy theory for you.

Tarantino's movies don't lend themselves well to trailers.
His imagery, snap dialogue, over the top characters, atmosphere , use of music, etc. all lend themselves great to trailers.

Maybe what you mean is not traditional formula trailers, but then that goes for the whole movie, so the trailers reflect that, meaning they work.
Ultimately it's a mater of taste, so what you should argue then is - they don't work for you.

But that's not what was being argued anyway , it was
It just...seems very scattershot and after watching the trailer twice I really don't know what this movie's about
Which is fine if you don't get it, but with the setting, hard hitting character snapshots, and the choice dialogue, the 2 trailers (so far) seem pretty damn straightforward on what they are about:

Set up: Bounty hunter trying to bring his bounty in alive, gets trapped in a haberdashery a couple of nights with 7 others.

"...I'm taking this one to hang, she's worth 10k$, that money is mine boys
...is there anybody here committed to stopping me from doing that.

- cut to snapshot of 8 ruthless strangers trapped under one roof, being picked off by someone.

"...One of them fellas is not what he says he is"

.... it's pretty self explanatory. :funny:

That is probably the best use of "camera behind characters back"/I've seen

Great poster. This is my second most anticipated movie for the rest of the year after The Force Awakens.

The Hateful Eight Pop! figures come out in February.

Goddamn is that SLJ one cute.

Lol that's got to be the first Pop figure to show physical signs of abuse?

I'll admit an Eight way Mexican Standoff would be insane! :woot:
:funny:LOL Although I doubt he'll push the cliché, it does makes a great set up for a poster though!
