Tarantino's movies don't lend themselves well to trailers.
His imagery, snap dialogue, over the top characters, atmosphere , use of music, etc. all lend themselves great to trailers.
Maybe what you mean is not traditional formula trailers, but then that goes for the whole movie, so the trailers reflect that, meaning they work.
Ultimately it's a mater of taste, so what you should argue then is - they don't work for
you.
But that's not what was being argued anyway , it was
It just...seems very scattershot and after watching the trailer twice I really don't know what this movie's about
Which is fine if you don't get it, but with the setting, hard hitting character snapshots, and the choice dialogue, the 2 trailers (so far) seem pretty damn straightforward on what they are about:
Set up: Bounty hunter trying to bring his bounty in alive, gets trapped in a haberdashery a couple of nights with 7 others.
"...I'm taking this one to hang, she's worth 10k$, that money is mine boys
...is there anybody here committed to stopping me from doing that.
- cut to snapshot of 8 ruthless strangers trapped under one roof, being picked off by someone.
"...One of them fellas is not what he says he is"
.... it's pretty self explanatory.
