Question about Installing a Game to my Hard drive.

So I bought a used game....Marvel Ultimate Alliance....didn't play it for a while, and there's a huge scratch in it, and it's too late to return.

But the X-box does register that it is M:UA, I just can't play it, or install it to my hard drive.

My question is, if I borrow M:UA from my buddy, and install that to my hard drive, will I be able to play with my copy?

Yes, it should. My brothers Halo disc is cracked but is still able to be recognized as the game so he installed my copy.
