Iron Man Questions about the differences in the movie and cartoon.

so i've been watching the Iron Man cartoons on Jetix.
and there are a couple differences i've noticed.

1) There's a girl in the cartoon who looks like she'd be Pepper Potts, but Tony calls her "Julia". what's up with that?

2) In the movie, Tony's father's name is Howard Stark. but in the cartoon, his father's name is Walter Stark. what's up with that?

1. Julia Carpenter, formerly Spider-Woman, now goes by Arachne. In the cartoon she was made into Starks love interest.

2. I too wonder why Howard was changed into Walter. I guess the people making the cartoon didn't know his real name. In the comics he was always names Howard.

thanks dude. that makes sense to me now. yeah, Spider-Woman does show up in this Iron Man cartoon quite a bit. as does the other Avengers such as War Machine, Hawkeye, and a couple others who i don't recall.

btw, this Iron Man cartoon isn't much of a quality cartoon. it's pretty ****ty if you ask me.

The Avengers that show up are actually Tony's Force Works team or the former West Coast Avengers, except, it was US Agent instead of Hawkeye in the comics.

Yeah, the cartoon was pretty bad, although season 2 was leaps and bounds better than the first season, it even had that "I am Iron Man" intro that was pretty kick ass.

when season one was made the wca had been dissolved in the comics so tony refitted ,so to speak them into force works the team was left unnamed to avoid confusion

In the UK, I believe tony's father's name was Howard Stark. I remember thinking while watching the film that they used it because it resembled Howard Stern.

unless howard stern was mentioned at his celebration montage...

first of all, i love Howard Stern. and i think it's cool how Tony's father is Howard Stark, which is close to Howard Stern.
plus, in the comics his name is Howard, not Walter. but in the cartoon, atleast in the episode that i saw, his name was Walter Stark. weird. probably a sign of sloppyness by the editors. again, another reason why the cartoon series sucked.
secondly, that mullet in the 2nd season obviously signifies that it was obviously created in the early-mid 90's. nobody cared about Iron Man back then tho.

Looking back (on Youtube ) this is a pretty sucky cartoon, though I have fond memories of watching it as a kid.

It's how I was introduced to Iron Man (mullet and all!) and it was pretty cool at the time (though I remember being frequently weirded out by characters like Modok )
