Would've posted this thread a few days ago, but the board was being dumb for me.

So I'm in my toy car, listening to the radio, when I hear R&B artist Ciara come on the radio with what I believe to be her new song "Promise". Now I like that song: it's a sweet little song that's comparable to some of Alliyah's ballads. But then the song begins, and it's actually a craptastic "Remix" with the modern day king of Craptastic remixes, R. Kelly!

What the hell is going on?!? R. Kelly seems to be the first one on call when an artist does a remix to a song!!! There are about 4 or 5 remixes out there getting played, all featuring R. Kelly! And I wouldn't mind half as much if they were as good as, if not better, than their original counterparts. But there is no comparison. And except for Trapped in the Closet (which I don't view as an Opera or Hip Hopera or whatever since its just the same damn song over and over and Over again with the words changed) Kelly hasn't had a real decent hit since 1999.

The worst one I heard was about 2 or 3 months ago. It was the remix to T-Pain's "I'm in Love (Wit a Stripper)". Decent enough song to listen to, and definitely hilarious on it's own. But R. Kelly's verse on the remix... man! The guy talks about being in love with this stripper's ass. I mean, no joke, literally in love with it! And while I'm listening to this idiot sing his segment, I can't help but think of the charges held against him for his relationship with those underage girls. And then I remember that he had that discriminating tape out of him(I'm sorry, I meant "someone who looks like him") with the "victim" and the freaky **** I heard he did in that. And then I tune back in to hear him run off his last line. And I quote:

" I Wanna Lick It, Wanna Stick, I Wanna Put My Whole Damn Head In It!"

:wow:

Motha ****ER! Aren't you still on trial for that ****? How can you sing something like that and have the audacity to claim your innocent? IDIOT!

I was so certain his trapped in the closet'' song was supposed to be comedic

Nope! :csad:

I mean, it's a good song the first time you hear it. And the concept is brilliant. I wish more artist had the ingenuity to do an entire album that's an Rock Opera or Hip Hopera or whatever. But it's the same damn song over again... and it's about as emotionally striking as a day time soap.

There was a point in Trapped in the Closet where he pulled a gun on a deacon who turned out to be gay. If that wasn't meant to be funny, the Kells needs to hire a ghost writer.

Luckily, I've only heard the remix to "Promise" once on the radio. The DJs have been shying away from it, and playing the original.

Not in my area. :csad: They've basically stopped playing the original and have been playing the remix. Even the squeaky clean "POP" stations are playing that version over the original...

issent he supposed to be in jail for pissing on a kid?

He's famous. The trial keeps getting pushed back as to not conflict with his career.

He's released, what, 4 albums since charges were pressed?

i thought this was about him doing nasty things with children:( but yes he should never be let loose on other people's songs. his own career is just a shambles now as well

I really enjoyed Trapped In The Closet, but only for its comedic quality.

Come on, when he brings in Midgets and the like - you know it was tongue and cheek.

I'm afraid R. Kelly is one of the preeminant musical geniuses of the 20th/21st century. :csad:

haha. I read the title and thought he peed on someone again

Hahahah R. Kelly is garbage. Did you hear him on that Snoop song? I could write better lyrics in my sleep. And to think that he actually gets paid for that.

Yeah...he's become the suck in the last few years. Plus he pees on young girls.

On purpose. :csad:

That's not sexy. :down

What ever became of that rape charge???? Didn't hey have video tape???

Yeah I watched it like 3 or 4 years ago at some friends house. It was bootlegged all over New York at the time...totally underground. It was...interesting to say the least.

I confess his song with Young Jeezy, Go-getter, is pretty catchy when bumping from a car's system going 80 on the expressway.
