Race to Witch Mountain

This will be awesome, plus i see everything Dwayne is in. Not due to his past career but because the guy is hilarious.

Instead of doing another Witch Mountain they should adapt another one of Alexander Key's books, like The Forgotten Door or The Golden Enemy.

The trailer I saw for this looked really lame. A lot of clever editing to try and make everything look and sound more clever than it is. But even then it still doesn't sound very clever.

I don't care what y'all say, this looks like it'll be a fun movie to watch. I'm taking my 8 year old nephew to see this as he's a big Rock fan and I loved the original

I think the fact that Disney is revisiting this stupid franchise is proof that there are no good ideas left in Hollywood.

R.I.P. - The Rock's Acting Career (1996-2009)

Looks like a lot of fun. I'll be seeing it for sure.

That Guy, The Rock's career has been struggling for a while.

Are you serious? His Disney movies have been hits, that's why they keep making them.

Just because you aren't the target demographic doesn't mean his career is struggling.

I'm sure you think Hannah Montana's singing career sucks but the girl earns bucks.

I'm not excited about this remake at all... i liked the original but this just doesnt look too good to me :csad:

And I know that, Ugfugly.

But obviously this isn't the route that people expected him to go. Not only he did that Disney football movie with the daughter, there's this (Witch Mountain), Disney's Tooth Fairy, and Disney's...Tomorrow Land.

I'm glad for his success but now he's stuck doing this Disney thing for the next two movies (for the time being). I'm all for kids movies, but you have to release that The Rock is stuck in the wrong era. If he was in the 80s, that would have been his hey-day.

I agree, his last film The Game Plan did really well in the box office and was well received by the general audience. He knows how to pick movies that attract a good crowd. He seems to enjoy the family genre and role and I think that is good for him. He is establishing himself as a "Steve Martin" sort of lovable actor.

See, I think the remake will be much better with today's technology. I can only imagine what sort of graphics and visuals they will have for this action packed story. I think it will definitely take this classic to the next level.

I think that the failure of Doom soured him on action movies for a while. I saw "The Game Plan" and it was funny.

I disagree. He may be doing this for personal reasons, that is making movies his kids can watch. I know alot of actors who are doing that now. Making movies for their kids or grand kids and I personally applaud that.

Fair enough but if The Rock isn't careful, he could wind up becoming the new Brendan Fraser. Fraser opted to do a slew of silly, family-oriented movies which ultimately hurt his credibility as an actor. He's become the go-to guy for silly family action movies with bad special effects. The same could happen to The Rock. It's a shame because I think that both of these guys are decent actors.

Ironically, they both had their breakthrough roles in the Mummy/Scorpion King franchise.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will star in Witch Mountain for Walt Disney Pictures. Andy Fickman is directing, and the studio will begin production in March.

Johnson, who just teamed with Fickman in the Disney family comedy The Game Plan, is in talks to play a Las Vegas cab driver who picks up a pair of siblings with magical powers. The plot advances the storyline from the original Escape to Witch Mountain, which Disney released in 1975.

Andrew Gunn produces through his Gunn Films, and Ann Marie Sanderlin is executive producer. Matt Lopez wrote the most recent draft.

Didn't see this posted anywhere in here. Is this really needed god Hollywood stop making all these Remakes.

So, the Rock is gonna play the pedophile with the kids in his motor home trying to run away from cops and telling people that they are really magical witches this time?

I agree. I think Dwayne Johnson is just trying to establish himself as a family-oriented actor. I don't see anything wrong with that honestly. He was married for 10 years and has an 8 year-old daughter, so he probably wants to do movies he can enjoy with her too. I know Adam Sandler took that same route when he filmed Bedtime Stories. I think as actors get older they want to build a specific identity that audiences can identity them with. People often forget how many different genres of films there are out there. I for one always enjoy my family/comedies. :)

Unless they're changing the story significantly, that is, removing the mystery, they're giving away a major surprise right there on the poster. I don't have a lot of faith in this project.

I wanna see this for looks like could be the rocks best movie. The Rundown is his best action movie and while he needs too do another action movie in that field to find that role like Arnie and Sly did to make him a there status. I feel that GridIron Gang was his best acting perfromance to date and feel Rock in comedy works kinda best at times. If i was a betting man id say The Rocks next movie will likely be at Disney and with Miley Cyrus for that be boths likly last skit at disney.
Why Miley he works well with young actors from disney an has been on Hannah Montana before.

What did you think that poster gave away? I guess I missed it, but to me it just looked like the face of the 2 kids and the taxi driver..?

Boy, this looks awful, even for a kid's movie.

I'll probably see it when it's out for rental but I doubt I'll like it
