Action-Adventure Rambo Reboot in the Works

It should be female... for sake of being 2016.

Ramboob.

But in all seriousness, why can't they just make a new film, new character and have it be inspired by the books.

I mean, do they hope the name Rambo will get bums on seats like they did for Ghostbusters?

Ghostbusters could have worked, if it wasn't called Ghostbusters, had an Ecto 1 and proton packs.

I hope they get D.J. Qualls to play Rambo....that would be awesome.

D.J. Qualls confirmed for Rambo.

How is Rambo described in the books? Is it much different to Stallone's character?

Overreact much?. Good god people. This is not some original idea of Stallone's that is sacred ground here. It's based off a book. A book can have many adaptions and generally if you adapt a book, you keep the time period. So it may in in fact be set back in the day. No one knows enough about it yet to judge. And let's face facts, I love Stallone, he's a legend but you could throw a rock and hit a better actor than Stallone to pull off the emotional breakdown of a character like Rambo. I say sit back and enjoy a new adaption of a great novel and judge it when you see it. The original will always be there folks.
Yeah it was a book with a much different ending. They aren't doing this to try and make a more faithful version of the book. The idea is to try and build off the hype and nostalgia of the original movies and try and do a franchise again. Just like with Ghostbusters.

Even the last Rambo movie with Stallone in 2008 only made $113 million worldwide. It's a dumb idea.

They're so gonna get a backlash from this.

Not on board with this at all, and I am not a hater of remakes at all and have liked a few of the movie recent ones.

More i think of it, Rambo should have been just one film, with a totally different ending.

However, prequels of sorts, could be interesting, in a way that we see the horror of war and then how ti can effect someone, but honestly, that will take away the appeal. Not really knowing what truly happened helped a lot as you just used your imagination.

Rare Exports, Big Game and Sisu director Jalmari Helander is set to direct from a screenplay by writing duo Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani (Black Adam). The aim is to start principal photography in October in Thailand.

The film’s plot is under wraps, but it will be the origin story of a young John Rambo during the Vietnam War, with casting in early stages. We understand Sylvester Stallone is aware of the project but is not currently involved. We hear the door is open from producers should a fitting role arise.

The director of Sisu: Okay, you have my attention.
Writers of Black Adam: Never mind.

I just don't care, lol! Last Blood was one of the worst pieces of cinema I ever subjected myself to in a theater. We have essentially said all we need to with Rambo. Just move on

Honestly, the Rambo franchise has been a joke since the second movie because it never should have been a franchise. The first film actually had something to say about PTSD and how people treated Vietnam vets. Everything after that was just RAH RAH RAH ‘MERICA HAS BIG GUNS AND MUSCLES. And with Stallone coming out as a Trump-worshipper, at this point, nothing could make this franchise feel any more pointless and awful than it already does.
